Using FedEx for shipping ammo ORM-D??

WulfmannWulfmann Member Posts: 4,906 ✭✭✭
I just signed up for a FedEx account so I can print labels at home and either have them picked up or drop them off myself
Question for those that have used them:
Can I print ORM-D labels but in black instead of blue? (My color printing no longer works)
Can I use the new  label that is required exclusively after 1/1/21
Is there a weight limit on how heavy I can use dropping them in a drop box?
What other things can you suggest about shipping FedEx with my personal account?
Has anyone tried to ship hazmat like primers/powder (seems like a lot of hoops)

I have a Fedex account also. My local Fedex told me that ammo must go thru a hub store, and not a franchised outlet, or a drop box. You need to be a certified hazmat shipper to ship powder and primers, just labeling them appropriately doesn't work. What is the new orm-d label that you speak of for 2021?

The labels my shop been getting is  ORM-D  marked in BLACK and they get there. So I would think that is acceptable since it's from the distributors?
No triangle or quadrangle, dual triangle or  anything like that.

The "ORM-D cartridges, small arms" will no longer be acceptable after 12-31-20.
The quadrangle with no letters will be required from 1-2-21 going forward.

My biggest concern with FedEx like USPS is each person has a different idea of what policy is.
One person says yes to this another says absolutely not so I figure you guys who have been using FedEx to ship would know what has worked and what has not

I was wondering if before it expires if I used this:

would be accepted instead of the blue version

Certification for the HAZMAT license is a course, passing the test for the course and paying a $481.00 fee which is renewable. Shipping without the HAZMAT is a fine of $250,000 for individuals.
    Best.
