243 Winchester 1000 yard killing machine

I read a day or so ago about the long rang capabilities of the mighty .243 Win. Well I have two starting tonight and I gar en tee excellent one shot groups of under an inch at 1000 yards. You will probably need a full sheet of plywood for a target especially if there is much cross wind. Good luck!!

I wish I could have met the old man. I have several of his books and he made a lot of sense to me. It ain't bragging if you can do it.

Well now, the 6MM Dasher will kick its butt all day every day.  The 6MM BR will match it and burn 10 grains less powder doing it too!

I really liked old Elmer. Read a lot of his books and magazine articles, when I was younger. Even saw him one time. When the NRA, had there annual convention in San Diego.  Back when I was still living, in Commie Calli.

The yarn he spun, about shooting the Elk. With a .44 magnum off hand at 600 yds. Was the one, I always had doubts abut. But he was a fantastic game shooter. If anybody could have done it, it would have been him.

I think it was a deer at 600 from the creedmore position but I haven’t read that story in a long time so you might be right.

That is a nice Sendero.  I have found them to be accurate guns.  I never shot one in 243 but the 223, 308 and 300 mag's I have shot were all accurate.  I have a 223 and a 308 and my only beef with them is the 223 has a slow twist barrel, I wish it was 1-9 but I believe its a 1-12.  It shoot 55gr bullets fine though.  The 308 has a long chamber so it responds to handloads with bullets seated out much better than factory loads.  The 26" tube really gets all the velocity out of the load, much better than a 20 or 22" barrel.

Ricci I dig the TSW too.  Those are very well made guns.
