Virus report

I spoke with a friend yesterday.  He is a doctor and works in the ER at the Louisville, KY  VA hospital.  He told me he has seen more COVID-19 cases in the last three weeks than he had seen in the previous four months.   They are having to hold some COVID-19 patients in the ER because open hospital beds are slow to present, that's all hospitals in the region not just at the VA.

Bed shortages due to hospitals being full happen more often than some may think.   Anytime a bug goes around it can happen, the most common time being peak flu season.  So that in itself isn't new., but this time it is caused by COVID-19.    So in our region the virus is still making a large impact.

I spoke with my daughter in law also, she manages  a unit in one of the large downtown hospitals.   She told be they are full and COVID-19 admissions had spiked again.    A few weeks ago there were only ten COVID-19 patients in the whole hospital.

On the flip side we had a local incident where a womans Grandmother died of Alzhimers and Covid was listed on the death certificate, she had not been tested nor had any symptoms of covid. clearly a case of pumping the numbers either for political, financial gain?

    Hope your family stays safe.
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Four people in my family have had it.  My niece in Houston was fairly sick with it but didn't need hospitalized.  Her husband had it  but didn't get as sick.  My niece in Louisville and her grown daughter (my great niece) both had it.  They lost their sense of taste and smell among other symptoms but weren't that sick with it.

There's a good chance my brother had it given the timing and symptoms.  It lasted a few days.    I think my uncle may have had it.  His symptoms match and though he was hospitalized twice he wasn't tested because in late January they really didn't know they needed to test for it.  He got really sick and while his symptoms were treated and he eventually got better there was never a definitive diagnosis of the cause.    While he is a lot better he still isn't back to his previous self.

The US is on fire with Covid, while many other countries seem to have it under fair control. Pretty embarrassing I would think,....all because we can't seem to use any common sense, and think of anyone but ourselves.

Watch tv and see all the riots, and the clips from Sturgis just for examples. Wow,....what a country of freaks we have become. Three quarters of the nation look like third world types,.....PT Barnum would love this society.
