Paypal Question

RTBrentRTBrent Member Posts: 13
Do others charge a fee for using PayPal for payment since they charge 3% or do you just build into minimum, or something else?  Sorry if this is a stupid question have never sold before.

Be careful with Paypal. They are very anti gun and may cause problems with payment.

What else is there?  I am just an individual and no way of taking credit card.

I accept personal checks, five business days to clear MY bank. I also take postal money orders.

That is what I have, but someone mentioned I might have trouble selling that way, thanks for the input.   Being new to selling just didn't know anything really this time.

Do not take paypal for anything gun related. Do not even mention gun in any transaction involving them.  They will likely close your paypal account.

Postal money orders, not money orders.
Some folks will advertise "discreet Paypal accepted", which means "don't let Paypal know what the money is for".  If your buyer writes "firearm" in Paypal's "purpose" field, they will freeze your funds for 6 months, then cancel you.
You have to compete with dealers & distributors who accept charges, & who may negotiate lower shipping with the carriers.  If you see that dealers are charging $40 to ship a certain firearm, you need to charge the same & eat any difference.

And by close your account, he means FREEZE your account.  I don't sell here often, but when I do I list acceptable payments as cash, check, postal money order, livestock, precious metals, gemstones, bourbon or indentured servitude.

Tried to use PayPal a couple days ago here on GB. Clicked on sellers bar at bottom as advised and it would not work. Called and he told me to call Paypal and direct funds to him. No thank you. He would not take USPS money order so i put on credit card instead. Guns and PayPal do not mix! Just my 2 cents worth. -------------Ray

If you had a neighbor that hated you so much they paid people to give you a hard time....constantly complained about you to everyone and tried to get you kicked out of your home because they didn't like you would you go to their yard sale and pay money to them???     WHY would anyone in the gun market or who cared about firearms at all give paypal any business at all.

Don't worry, pay-pal is old news, soon you can use Fed-Now crypto blockchain currency right out of your bank account with super low fees just like Red China is doing now with the yuan.

Many economies have been actively exploring the creation of fiat digital currencies; for example, China's central bank has entered the pilot stage of its Digital Currency Electronic Payment (DCEP). The DCEP is envisioned to mainly replace M0 and designed to adopt a dual operational regime linking the central bank, commercial banks and social entities, but the central bank has yet to disclose specifics for the operational regime.

Kasey, agreed. I took sellers advice. Was a mistake. Thankfully, never went thru PayPal. But it gets worse. Priority from Missouri and days and days finally sat in White Plains two days and went to wrong address as composed by seller. Received alert today from wrong post office that said forwarded but not to where. Sure hope I get my '37 Winchester Parts.-------Ray

PS. Not to get off track but whats wrong with going to voting place to cast your vote unless you have extenuating circumstances. I got a bad feeling about this mail in your ballot stuff. At least every 10 days I deliver mail to my neighbors that came to my house by mistake. Once i found a pkg laying in next door neighbors yard. Somebody has to pay for all that sorting and delivery. Whats wrong with getting off your lazy * and going to vote?
