Any help reaipring a drip drip gas line on my old Case tractor

Ok, had to change sediment bulb on the Case 402 tractor and of course the old one broke off at the base of the gas tank. I took it to metal shop and he drilled what he thought the exact same threads but they must be a few thousandths off. I used tape and TFE paste but it has a small drip to it. Anyone know what would/ could work to stop it for real.? Another tank is out cause they made this model 3 years and impossible to find. THANKS

I second the JB weld idea. Bad things is that might make it a little more permanent than you like.
