Just got this one in today. Made by Pedercoli for Navy Arms, a percussion with 28" barrels. Gun is very clean. Do people shoot these things??

Yes, although there are not nearly the same number of enthusiasts as muzzle loading rifles and handguns. Many years ago, Beretta offered a beautiful 12ga  muzzle loading SXS. Back in the day we couldn't give them away (and I didn't set one aside for myself). Now they are nearly impossible to find.

That is going to be one well made gun.

    Oh yeah people shoot 'em!
Only way it would have been better is if it was 20 gauge.

I used to use one to rabbitt hunt, when I still had my dogs and good legs, you could add a little more shot and little less powder to first barrell and just opposite for second barrell and throw some big patterns, hard to miss rabbit under 20 yards once you got recipe right.

I used to teach hunter safety classes with a real black powder aficionado. I'd handle modern firearms and he would do the primitive. After the range day portion of the class we would shoot a round or two of skeet after the students left. He only used real black powder in his SxS and because of all the smoke I took his word that his targets broke.😄 Bob

I bought this around 1980 and another in kit form. The barrels are marked,  ARMI FLLI PIETTA GUSSAGO BS ITALY & Navy Arms Co.....  Is this similar to what you're talking about?  AL

    Or a 10 gauge.
Fun thing about black powder - it doesn't recoil like smokeless powder.

Fun thing with BP - NFA doesn't apply. I was looking for an older one to cut way down.

I’ve owned a sidexside and a Beretta over under.

shot quite a few limits of doves with them.

    Fun to shoot
