A Bow hunter in OR was killed by an Elk he had shot.

Guy shoots an arrow into an elk in OR. The elk runs away and Mr Robin hood cannot find it. So the next day he goes out with the guy who owns the property he is hunting on and they find the elk. Only its mad and charges the hunter. The elk stabs the hunter in the neck with his antlers and kills the guy.

He set out with the property owner to find the elk and at around 9.15am on Sunday morning they found the animal alive.

David attempted to kill the elk with his bow but the enraged animal charged at the hunter and gored him in the neck with his antlers.

BTW bow season opens in OR for elk at the end of AUG so he was legal. The cops killed the elk and the meat was sent to the jail to feed the prisoners.

First elk I took was a big 6x6. Shot him through both lungs with a rifle at 30 yards. He turned and looked at me, put his head down, and charged!! I cranked another round in and shot again hitting him in his right front leg just above the elbow. He went down and stayed down about 10 yards from me. Scared the crap outta me!!! I wasn't sure if I'd ever go elk hunting again.

Elk are tough and can be mean. I watched one take 4 rounds in the pumphouse from a 270 and just stand there.

You should read the comments on this article, lets just say not too much sympathy for the hunter.

There's nothing more dangerous than a wounded animal. From the elk's perspective, how would you like to spend the night with an arrow stuck in your body? It turns out that attacks by aggressive deer and elk are responsible for about 120 human deaths per year. On the flip side, hunters harvest roughly 6 million deer each year and 1.5 million deer are killed in vehicle collisions which result in around 20 human deaths.

It was a tough break for the bow hunter, but we've still hold the edge over the deer by wide margin.
