This Wolf 145gr FMJ is at 2781 FPS so the port pressure should be good for M1s but I have not tried it.  Lacquered green steel case.  Purchased new a few months ago.   Auction # 878023835.

I don't see a link to your auction, but one should be careful when using any modern ammo in an M1.  A few companies have manufactured ammo to specs. for use in an M1.  Perhaps Mark can weigh in with more info, but I do not believe muzzle velocity is an accurate gauge as to the pressure seen by the op rod.

The following link gives a few manufactures, and a plug for the GB auction site to boot.

I believe the combination of bullet weight and velocity should ensure the port pressure is close to Ball M2 specification.

You may be correct, but 25-odd years ago (before I had discovered the CMP) I thought I had found a good balance with a Federal 30-06 load for my first M1.  It was one of the new builds that Springfield built on an new Italian receiver with surplus  bolts, op rods, etc.  It took probably 50 rounds or so, but the pressure mushroomed the guide track in the op rod, and I had to replace it.   It was explained to me that even though the bullet weight and velocity looked right, the burn rate of the powder resulted in higher pressure at the gas port, resulting in a load on the op rod that was in excess of specs.

Not trying to be a pain, and the ammo may work fine.  I have looked at a number of different sites, however, and could not find one that advertised this as ammo to run through a Garand.  Most opinions were to the contrary.  For what it is worth, I would not think of running it through a Garand.  Not only because of the potential pressure problem, but I would also not want to run steel cased ammo through one.  From what I have seen, most Garand owners seem to agree.

What else could 30-06 145gr FMJ be for, though?
