But since you've decided to is your Tinnitus acting up more than usual today? Mine is whistling in my head like a blown air hose and making a terrible racket. Has there been any recent medical discovers that can relieve this problem? Why is it that some days are worse than others?

Smitty, lots of things aggravate tinnitus. Besides the obvious like noise exposure, ingesting aspirin, chocolate, nuts, alcohol, and others have been known to make tinnitus worse. (You have a Snickers and a Bud for breakfast?)
You can make it seem a little less by running a fan, playing some low music, or having some other background "white" noise.
My hearing aids have a tinnitus program that plays soft rain sounds. It helps a lot. It also puts me right to sleep! I call it the anesthesia mode, lol!
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Good question!!! It's a toss up here as to whether it's Tinnitus or Circus Circus!:

we are suppose to be having a over abundance of the seven year locus this  year .  I have seen a  lot more
sad I can not tell by sound as there buzzing noise is what I hear 24/7  and almost as loud  in my ears just like  standing next to one of the little nose makers .
at night to be able to sleep I run a loud fan for many years or now I  find a youtube program with a lot of soft back ground noise . I never knew there was so many "sleep" post on there some  dark screen rain  thunder and soft music  so now I find one that's pleasant  and use it

I've been using one of these noise machines to sleep by since back in the late 80s that I purchased from Sears. Sounds sorta like the wind and you can adjust the pitch by turning the top one way or the other. They last a long time. I've only worn one out over the years. I bought 2 more in case they ever quit making them.

Ear wax affects my Tinnitus. If I let it build up, it really gets bad.

Sinus trouble can effect it too.  All the smoke in the air is not helping matters.   Alergy meds, benadryl  may help.  Good luck.

I have a sleep noise generator that has a pair of under-pillow speakers. My wife can't hear it at all but it comes through just fine for me. I like surf sounds and rain. It has 20 different sounds, all digital. There's a "rain and distant thunder" one that's like having anesthesia. It's by soundoasis.com
