Berdan Primers

With the crazy prices for primers I decided to go thru mine to see what I can part with. I forgot that I had 6+ sleeves (x250) of LR Berdan primers. I searched them & saw that they were "out of stock" at $12.50 each. I know they are only worth what someone will pay for them, but I'm wondering about interest in them in this time of shtf.

You can list them and see.
 There are ways to reconstitute Boxer primers involving removing the anvil and flattening the dimple with a punch and so forth. Would rather reconstitute Boxers than reload using Berdans. IMHO, its easier.

Berdan primers tend to appear during every ammo crisis. We saw them in 2008 and again in 2012. The issue this time around is that unlike 2008, there have not been large amounts of surplus military ammo, which is typically Berdan primed, imported in many years. Most of the Berdan ammo out there is Russian steel case, and although Berdan primed (usually), resizing steel cases is a PITA to the point that most people would never consider it. Bottom line: there are simply not as many Berdan primed (reloadedable) brass cases in the US as there used to be.

If you can't use them? It would be the best time to sell on the auction. I would only sell with the understanding. That the buyer has to pay the haz mat fee. Over and above, the regular Common Carrier shipping charges. 

I don't know if FedEx and UPS, require primers to be shipped overnight like handguns? If so? Would be quite expensive. Over and above the basic auction price.

These came from a friend  that had a tool to "pic" out the old primer. They were his last ditch supply & he would face the reloading challenges if & when. Fortunately I have enough boxer primers that I'm not worried. I will look at the shipping charges, but with the prices recently, I don't think people are too concerned.
