2009 Kia Spectra EX

I know someone in the need of dependable transportation, quickly.  I've found one of these priced at market value in good shape with 94K miles.   Anyone know how many miles can be expected from these cars or any other information to consider?
thanks

I do know that Kia/Hundai(sp?), same corporation, had some engines recalled because of machinings left in the engine at manufacture. It covered a couple of engines, and numerous Kia/Hundai models, and model years.. Our neighbors bought a 2012? Kia Sportage, from her great uncle. They drove it for about 3-4 months and lunched a rod bearing at 108K miles. Of course Kia told them their vin was not part of the recall.

I think they have a 100,000 mile warrantee. Boom gone

would all depend on price, for a thousand/1500 range it would be disposable car for year or two of driving, much more than that and your taking your chances........ my daughter had one of the Kia sedans, not sure of model, basic 5 speed and nothing else but radio, no air, pw, or any options got it for $800 drove it about year sold it for $1000 to a kid going to college, if you don't expect much in that price range you can't be disapointed

Got a Kia rondo 2009 with 200K no major issues, a couple of sensors have needed replacement
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

You couldn't ask for better customer service than Hyundai. Our 2013 Sonata motor started making a noise at 89,900 miles. I took it to the dealer on a Monday morning and had it back home Thursday morning less than 3 days later with a new motor in it and we didn't buy the car new nor did we buy it at that dealership. They didn't hem hah around about fixing it either, the tech listened to the motor running for just a second and said we'll fix it. Then he asked me if I needed a loner car in the mean time. I said if it's going to take a while I will. He said you'll have it back before the end of the week. I thought to myself yeah we'll see about that.

I thought they had made a mistake when they called me back less than 3 days later and said it was ready. I thought they were going to get me a loner car.  Nope it was fixed. I opened the hood and checked the block and it was brand new. I opened the oil filler cap and shined a light in and it was brand new. That was 2 years ago and not a problem since. The next car we buy will be a Hyundai.

Non-transferable. That's what a buddy of mine learned when he bought his wife a used Kia and the engine crapped out on it.
