I LIKE it!. That being said I would need a hands on inspection before I would buy it. From his pictures it looks to me like it was restored many moons ago. Some lettering looks polished out. His explanation for the numbers on the second barrel sound plausible but why do the serial numbers have a different font? If done at the same time shouldn't the fonts be the same? If that is the original butt stock then sometime it has been cut and a circa 1950 or 1960s pad added. Not a bad job if it was restored long ago but I would want to know what I was buying. Bob

To me, Old School means 20 gauge with an English (straight) stock. It's a nice looking shotgun, but not to my taste.

Never really been a fan of straight stocked guns, or double triggers either...but still pretty nice either way..

Just having that butt stock to look at every day would make any day a little better!!

My only remaining shotgun is a dainty Spanish 20-ga sxs that my wife gifted me decades ago. Under six pounds, nice wood, and bored IC/Mod with extractors and twin triggers. It's only fault is that I can't seem to miss anything with it.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

Wait, is he running two auctions for the same gun?

I've acquired a few old sxs shotguns lately but nothing in that neighborhood.  Old classics came in all popular gauges but when I think old school 16ga pops into my mind.   I would love to have the gun in the post but for that much cash there are other things I would rather do.

I had to look it up. My wife gave me that cute little Spanish 20ga for Christmas '86. She paid a whopping $245 for it from the old location of Gallenson's in Salt Lake City.

$245 in 1986 wasn't a fortune but it was fair amount of wages, she must like you.

I was long out of my "Return by..." date even then. Also note that she hasn't bought me another one since. So...

I like em with ears!  An old 16 I once owned that had Krupp nitro proofed barrels, a beaver tail cheek, and sling swivels for a shoulder strap.
