Didn't want a plastic framed gun. Read reviews on this and nothing negative. Seller dropped the shipping cost so free shipping.  Should shoot well. I put up the compare to the Tactical one. Only difference is stipling on front strap and night sights. I can put night sights on it later if I want.

Nice looking pistol. I like the stocks. I've never owned a 10mm. I've fired a few- of course there aren't many guns I haven't fired, but never owned one.

Stopped by and picked up a copy of my FFL's license so it could be sent. I ask him what 10mm he would buy? He said Springfield without a doubt, stay away from Kimbers they fail to feed, and forget Remington they have problems in house. .. just staying open. Springfields have a lifetime warranty.  He is setting up a hog hunt in the swamp ... I will be there.

I've owned a G 20, 10 mm, since the 90's. Wanted one on a 1911 platform, but didn't want to pay for one threw  threw the nose, like the OP's. Decided to build one. Already had a double stack, Rock Island full size frame, and a original Colt 45 ACP slide. And double stack Mec Gar 45 ACP magazines.  Ordered a original Colt 10 mm barrel from GPC. And a 9 mm extractor from Amazon. 

Prest-o Change-o, put them all together, got a 10 mm on a double stack 1911 frame. Only problems had to tweak 9 mm extractor for positive extraction. Took the original mickey mouse RI grips off, the RI. And replaced them with skateboard tape.

Shot fine, mostly with my handloads. Although I haven't been able to shoot since May, due to the horrible weather, (54 days of 110 or above, tempts since than). Chinese crud is bad enough, don't need a case of heat stroke to go along with it.

Well I got mine from selling accessories off the subgun... Mags, brass catcher, barrel extension all tallied up to about 750 . I paid beans for all of that 38 yrs ago.

No clue they are warranty for life. My FFL about 5 mile away is a class 7 manufacturer of firearms. 1911 specialty. When it comes in he can look or replace..however I wonder how that will affect the warranty.

I sent the USPS money order out this morning. Seller gets it Tues. I should have the piece by Friday.  I will shoot it for awhile and let my FFL use it . He has been wanting to build one. Just well use mine as an example .

BTW... Springfield had a 10k rd test in their XDM 10MM and did not have 1 failure.

I thought you got the Range Officer 1911?  The XD-M 10 is a totally different gun, its made in Croatia and has a Polymer frame like a Glock.

I put that statement up to show Springfield knows what they are doing. I did buy the 1911 Range Elite Officer.  I also own a Springfield XD 40 5" tactical that has been flawless.

I guess I am too slow... This one was listed recently. As I mentioned in your other thread, these Star Megastar's are my favorite 10mm to shoot. They fit me perfectly and the heft helps calm the hottest 10mm loads. Many people say the S&W 10xx line is the most robust. I'd argue that these are stronger. Only negative I can come up with on these is the safety is not in a natural position for one-handed operation.

Picked it up awhile ago... Took it apart oiled it with lube they sent... ran some easy 10 mm thru it first... little recoil... ran some hotter magtech... little difference in recoil.. It shoots sweet.

Just made some nice 50 yd shots off the railing of the deck.  Not a problem hitting a deer at that range..or a coyote. It sure shoots flat.

I knew you were joking.  Fact is I had a chance to buy a kimber 10 off another site. I haven't had any luck with them so the third time wasn't going to be a charm..not with my luck.. One of these days you are going to have to come by ..outside Columbia..

I think Kimber's plastic mainspring housing would bother me more than mim parts.

I was never all that crazy about Kimbers either.  I was going to get one of the SIS guns about 10 years ago until I talked to our units old Armorer, he said to pass on them.  I wanted a nice gun to convert to 460 Rowland(never did it) but he told me to find a Colt upper and an Caspian lower and build a gun.  That is basically what I did but I never got the Rowland kit.

Just curious as to what you don't like? Only thing I can think of might be the cost of ammo.
