Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is considering a $94 million property tax increase, layoffs for more than 300 city workers and a gas tax hike as part of her plan to close a $1.2 billion budget deficit, sources told the Tribune.

Lightfoot also is considering about $500 million in refinancing city debt to help close the deficit, sources said.

The mayor is scheduled to explain her plans to close the city’s coronavirus-fueled budget deficit on Wednesday. One thing is clear: It won’t be easy.

Its the damdest behavior I have ever seen because the carnage, mayhem, and property destruction is confined within cities under DEMOCRAT supermajority control. The revolution the author speaks of is confined to their own cities where these people live.  Considering politics is local, these people have their way. Plus, they have DEMOCRAT leadership allowing such behavior and limiting the only resistance to such behavior: Law enforcement. 

Most of the ("good people" for lack of a better term) left the cities because of the crime, taxes, BS social programs, and poor business climate caused by these DEMOCRATs. Homeless, illegal aliens, and criminals are treated better than business and property owners.

BTW, This topic is often discussed in the small towns and rural areas where I live in and the citizens here are not going to tolerate such acts. Life is good here, people are happy, not depressed, people are working, support LE, and best of all: Very few DEMOCRATs.
