Real steel, not pot metal. Ok sorry. Anyway this one is pretty nice and from an estate sale. They couldn't locate the .22 LR cylinder so it only has the .22 Magnum cylinder. I just looked and there are new cylinders available including a 10 shot for a little over $100.00.

How would a ten shot cylinder work in a six shot gun? Wouldn't the pawl that advances the cylinder spin it too far?

I suppose the same as in a 617 S&W. The star would compensate.

I had a similar problem.  I went for many years with just the Mag cylinder, before solving the problem by sending this SS Single Six with no LR cylinder back to Ruger (On the advice from several forum members!!)!  They ended up replacing BOTH cylinders, something to do with the old cylinder wouldn't match up with the new cylinder.  That and some minor buffing to get the metal to match.  I spent more than I meant to spend but thought that the charge was reasonable considering the quality of the work and how much they did.  With the buffing, this stainless steel Single Six looked brand new so I was well pleased!!

maybe the extra cylinder is in the box with all the choke tubes that never come with a used shotgun, except for the modified ones of course.

I regret selling my single six and I bid as much as I could go on this one. [Budget not so great lately.]

Yes but it's made of steel so it may be too heavy for you to shoot well. I do have a bipod that I could duct tape to the barrel.

Thank you Sir!! I do try to make them look good and that sometimes involves a good cleaning. Even little specks of dust show up like boulders in pictures.

Magnum is a little rough on the leaves ain't it?

Depends. The leaves in Tennessee are massive, some several feet across so they are easy to hit at long range. They are very hard to rake though.
