Battery corrosion

Just went to replace the batteries in my game cam.  Had a new package of Duracell AAA batteries and all 24 of them were leaking and had corrosion.  Package said they were good for ten years.  Phooey!!  Beware,  Duracell is not the premium battery I thought they were.  We will see if they stand behind their ten year claim.

I too have had it with Duracell batteries. After posting a year ago about all the problems I had with them I switched to Energizer and haven't had any problems so far. Now that I have said that I probably jinxed myself and all those energizers will probably self destruct.😁 Bob

Never had a problem with either brands. Pretty sure most alkaline Duracell and Energizer are still made in the states. Lithium Ion are a different story.

I've ruined several lights and all most a couple reddots because of Duracells leaking into them

IIRC, there was a thread quite a while back about this same thing. Duracell's were a better battery for duration, but Energizer's were sealed, and didn't make a mess. I ran into a deal where my gun safe entry pad was beeping, and replaced the 9v battery with an Energizer. It lasted about 4 months until it started again. I called the lock manufacturer, and they told me to use a Duracell and it wouldn't do it until it was drained, and they were correct. I always thought that 9v was 9v... obviously not.

I remember that now,   but Im done with Duracell with the mess Ive got.  Never had problems with them until the last couple of years.

Every battery that I have had leak has been a Duracell. I use Eneloop rechargeables  in everything now.

Yep, they look invincible in their copper jacket, but they leak.

If your leaking batteries ruin a device send it to the battery manufacturer and they will replace it or send you a check to buy a new one.

used to try to get the "best"  AAA  AA battery for stuff...now just get the big packs of alkaline ones at dollar general.....

I had to return two moultrie game cams because the secon battery in line would go bad, had this happen with rayovac, duracell, and energizer. when they replaced the second camera there was a note they wouldn't warranty the camera anymore unless I used energizer batteries, so far that is all I have used and no problems in two years.......

Energizers are on the way!  I fought for months for some satisfaction on a ruined GPS.  Thought maybe with the new batteries the problems were solved.   WRONG.  Got something expensive you dont use regularly?  Take the batteries out.  Im going through all my equipment from metal detectors to flashlights.

I buy 12 packs of high capacity EBL Ni-MH batteries from Amazon and have a charger.  My biggest concern is longevity in cold temperatures but so far they work like a champ.  No leaks.

Just had some energizers... ruin my mag light. 2026 date codes been in the light about 6 months. One battery would not even come out of the flashlight. Trash .

Years ago, I worked for Goodwill, and 99.99999% of the leaky batteries we found in stuff was Duracell. I found hundreds and hundreds of leaking Duracells over the 2 years I worked there.

I don't buy Duracell.

Same here leaky Duracells with years to go for expiration. Ruined TV remote in my 2nd home in Va. Too much damage to repair. Done with Duracell.-------------Ray
