Inventive way to heat a tent (or other enclosure, actually)

Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

interesting.  size of piping would have  different results up to a point,  air flow would be one that would be of importance to me.  the length of burn time might necessitate having multiple units ready to go.  all in all,  great idea,  cheap,  and fulfills many functions..

    That’s pretty interesting!

I think it would be important to have a good insulator between the pipe and the tent wall. You could insulate the whole pipe with some ceramic wool and never have a care in the world about melting a tent wall, plus you'd get more heat into your tent.

My wife had a ceramic lamb awhile back.  Don't know if I could have gotten any wool off of it however ;)

An interesting approach to keeping the flame and CO out of the tent.

It would be much more efficient if one would run an intake pipe from inside the tent at the floor, route it out to the flaming Swede, up through it and back into the tent.

OTOH, with a 5 person tent, 4 members of the Swedish bikini team would be a preferred method.

Edited to replace photo with link so that no one would be offended.

If old Jeff was in a tent with those six, he would be yelling for mercy.   :p

FCD, he literally did just pick it up and carry it. And split it.  Further, there are things like wheel barrows, carts, and vehicles of all sorts. Horses... you name it. People have been using wood for fires for millennia and I don't see how this would be different. So, I guess I'm not understanding why you say it can't be done... especially after we just watched a guy do it.

Unlikely or not, it happened. And can be repeated. And is beside the point regardless.

Horse puckey, FCD. I respect you highly, but this is not a Superman deal. Heck, you can (and I have) taken one of those 7-11 firewood bundles and made a Swedish candle out of them. It is a remarkably efficient way to make a fire.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.
