How to eat a hot dog

First step is to get drunk.
Second step is to have someone hold your beer.
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

Enemies of armed self-defense focus on the gun. They ignore the person protected with that gun.

About the same as how we are going to tolerate a Pelosi/Harris Presidency.

If y'all don't mind, I'd prefer this post not turn political.

I'll defer to an expert - Ms Harris.

    Well, in all seriousityness...
The question devolves to cut side of the bun up or to the side, or even with a knife and fork for those hot dog versions that are more condiment than dog - those chili cheese onion cilantro bacon pickle peanut butter sardine Hot Cheetos onion rings and mayo creations, for example.
    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

I agree Rocky. I usually don't warm my buns (hot dog) but if I do it's lightly spread cut side down.  I prefer cold buns and just add a little onion, pickle relish, and if I feel crazy a little bbq sauce. Toasted buns are good if you plan on adding most things on the dog that's in your fridge.  Actually, you don't even need a bun, just a spoon.

Totally unasked today, SWMBO fixed hot dogs for lunch. No buns in the house, so it was slices of bread. And she steamed/boiled them in a frying pan. I had mine with spicy brown mustard and warmed sauerkraut. Enjoyed them very much.

That sounds more like how to cook a hot dog.

I tried to eat one sideways once and ended up having to use both hands to hold the two sections that were left when the middle was gone.   They were designed to eat end to end!

Sometimes when I'm in a hurry and walking through the kitchen....I eat em cold right out of the package. The wife thinks its gross, then again she hates it if I eat Beefaroni or ravioli, cold out of the can.

Yep. Like em right out of the pack. Mon would fuss like the dickens.

I slice the pack into little pieces, fry em and add a big can of beans and a bunch of molasses.

You guys haven't had a hot dog until you have had one from Latin America with ALL the fixins'...........Honduras or Colombia......they are way more condiment than dog.......but dang if they aren't pretty good.

Eating cold out of the package hot dogs is the first TEST I use to detect if the dog is any good or not.   The bad ones leave that film on the roof of your mouth and almost always have a lasting weird after taste.   :#
