Bore sighting with a laser and 17 yard target. 243 win. with 95 grain Winchester ballistic silver tips. For a 100 yard zero the hold over is? I get a smidge over 1 inch. What say you?
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

It all depends on your horizontal scope cross hair height compared to bore height.  The bullet will cross your line of sight twice on the way to the target.  The only way to know for sure is have absolutely accurate info on the bullet  drop at 17 yards from a perfectly horizontal barrel and factor in the distance from bore center to horizontal cross hair.  My WAG is at 100 yards you will be off by 3-4", windage is an unknown depending on twist bullet weight and stability.  With that said, you will hit paper and adjust from there.

No clue but with your math skills I'm going with just a hair over 1 inch. :)
Why don't we go to school and work on the weekends and take the week off!

Hold UNDER.   1 inch low @ 17 yards would yield a ZERO @ 100 yds

Yes, at 17 yards the bullet is on the rise. It has been said what you get at 25 yards is the same at 100.
Might be , might not. shooting at 100 yards will tell the truth.

I have calculated and calculated but generally I get surprised when I fire a few down range. And that is where the most fun is generated.

I built 5 AR's during the Covid lockdown and after they were completed I took a couple days off from other projects and sighted them in. Different calibers and barrels and sights.

It turned out to be the most enjoyable 2 days I have spent in a long time.

From what I read above I think your first shot is going to be well on the paper.

I can't believe they misspelled "Pork and Beans!"

If I remember correctly,we sighted in M-60 machine guns at 660 inches and they would be very close at 660 meters.
