This Covid thing is getting real

bpostbpost Member Posts: 32,669 ✭✭✭✭

My best friend in Alaska has extended family in Texas, where he was born and raised. His mom, dad, 99 year old grandmother, his sister and brother in law all got China 19 virus. Most had mild symptoms or flu like suffering for a few days. His 50 something brother in law is in ICU with a DNR order. It looks like he will not make it out of this alive. His lungs are failing and it is just a matter of time until his body shuts down.

China is 100% responsible for this mess. They can kill 300,000,000 with out a blip in the bigger scheme. We Americans got the China shaft bigly.

Its been real, but too many people think they are tougher than the virus, and spread it to people who wind up suffering and dying.

A half dozen people at my club (where we had the charity shoot in September) have come down with covid virus in the last 2 weeks. One with no symptoms, 2 with cold symptoms and 2 pretty much getting their butt kicked. No one hospitalized yet and I hope it stays that way. Needless to say Judy and I have not been there in a while. One of our other friends has been hospitalized with covid for 3 weeks. So for those doubters, yeah this crap is real. Bob

Has infected one tenant who recovered and tested Positive numerous times. Her husband didn't get it. Child stayed out of the house at Grandma's . It is real, killing a lot of folks. Staying away from everyone.. We are now officially Hermits. Going nowhere unless it is an emergency.

I stock everyday in a large grocery store...........since I was able to return from hip replacement in May......I am fine. Come in contact with many people every day.......

What I find hilarious is that when people ask me questions wearing their masks, oftentimes I can't hear/understand, so I step closer to hear better. Everybody jumps back like they are being assaulted. Little do these simpletons know........they step back from me like I have the plague........but every single package of product that they subsequently pick up and buy has been touched by me or someone in my department. That * don't walk onto the shelves all by itself.

My wife and I had the virus back in March. There were 30 from our church that all got it one Sunday from someone visiting from New York. Four of the 30 died. Very close friends. My wife and I are still having breathing problems and seeing the doctor for it. This virus is real.

I tested positive last week of October, spent two weeks sleeping 20 hours a day no appetite, lost 12lbs.Never had a fever or lost sense of smell or taste but had no energy and easily winded.Last day of quarantine was 11/6 still not alot of energy and the stairs suck.My anxiety level has risen tremendously, Doc says all should return to normal in a few months I hope he is right!

My main concern is the mask issue. I went to a Wendy's for lunch last week. The walk up counter had three Biden loving heifers in front of me ordering over 30 bucks worth of fast food. The seating area was 2-3 feet behind the line. None of the eaters were wearing masks, of course. Said heifers had masks on with BIDEN printed on them, all had their noses fully exposed. When the heifers got done ordering and paying for enough food for a Marine platoon I walked up to the counter. It has a large plexiglass partition separating the workers from the buyers. A lady with glasses and a mask on was taking orders. She had 100% of her nose exposed.

She said it was policy for me to wear a mask in the store. I asked if she thought the mask she was wearing with 100% of her nose exposed was doing any good? Her reply, "I can't cover my nose it fogs my glasses. I said that having your nose exposed made the mask totally useless so why bother. I also pointed out that the walk up was 2-3 feet from people eating with no masks at all.

She said "sorry, it is Company policy" she handed me a mask which I put on.

If masks are going to prevent the spread, FINE, no problem I will do it to protect me and others. However the proper use of the mask is just as important as having one covering every thing except your nose, the holes your exhaled breath comes from.

I don't use the drive through because my diesel is so loud the order takers can't hear me. I HATE shutting down a diesel for 30 seconds then restarting it. Doing so is hard on diesels. So, I use the walk up if open so I can hit the bathroom too, taking a leak and washing my hands, never touching the door handle with out a paper towel doing the touching.

Masks do seem to have some benefit. Masks worn wrong are completely useless.

Well the next few weeks will determine just how bad this virus gets. Most likely if folks ignore swapping air with each other the hospitals will be over run and folks will die waiting to get medical attention. It is already happening over seas.

It’s been real for almost 8 months.

Last I checked, this is still America. Your definition of being careful will be different than someone else’s. Everyone should do what they feel is appropriate for themselves, and let others do what they deem appropriate for themselves.

Freedom and a submissive populace cannot co-exist.

Overall I guess I agree with you Don. I would never castigate someone for driving down the road wearing a mask. It may be stupid but is probably harmless. On the other hand the people who ignore the guidelines on gathering in groups or not maintaining social distancing are not only stupid but can be dangerous. We can do our best to take precautions but coming in contact with just one person who feels sick but doesn't stay home and away from others makes those precautions a moot point. So what becomes an appropriate precaution? I refuse to become a hermit but am tired of running into people with absolutely no common sense. Bob

Those who don't heed the warnings are bound to be the ones wanting help.

Can't be China's fault. We just elected a China-lover for president. Hope you enjoy it.

No worries Beijing biden will cover for his bribers from china.

China joe's BFF's killed 45 MILLION for communism. Funny how THAT isn't taught anymore.

Infecting the world for 1.3 million deaths [so far] is nothing for the chicom rats.

The demonRAT RICO gang "Quisling'ed" the USA for being gifted with a virus from their fellow commie rats to achieve absolute power.

It has been real since March. The 1918 pandemic wore people out, they quit taking precautions, quit staying apart and the second wave in 1919 killed more people than the first wave. We have better technology and better understanding of viruses now and there are vaccines coming all over the world, but there is still the potential for more to die in the next 6 months than have already. Too many people think their comfort and convenience is a "right" and more important than their own and others well being. Stay apart, wear a mask, what can it hurt? Get the vaccination, it takes 80% of the population to acheive herd immunity and at that point the hospitals will be able to really focus on saving those who get it. The science has nothing to do with politics (thought the reverse is not true).

Before the election I kept hearing and reading the virus would be gone November 4th.

  • hillbillehillbille Member Posts: 14,461 ✭✭✭✭

make that febuary 4th, gotta give biden a few weeks to cure it............

  • GrasshopperGrasshopper Member Posts: 17,046 ✭✭✭✭

Yep, the new vaccines will be Biden from Scranton doings, nobody else.

Known several who had it but all no symptoms to light flu like low grade fever, loss of taste, smell. No deaths.

China tainted the first test kits with the virus. Well since the USA gets most of its meds from them what is to say they haven't tainted some of the medicine coming in .

  • MobuckMobuck Member Posts: 14,169 ✭✭✭✭

As one of my employees commented about the increased number of "positives": "If they'd quit doing the darned tests, it wouldn't be nearly as bad". I agree, 90% of those "positives" won't amount to more than mild to moderate symptoms or nothing at all. One of my employees died of Covid (determined posthumously by several medical professionals) in November 2019. Her husband and I both had it approx 2 weeks later. Yeah, it was a tough week or so but I've had tougher weeks.

All this lock down and hysteria is a pile of poop. Any number of vectors can introduce the virus into a household so the hiding under a table, wearing a mask(generally improperly as I see it), and acting like "chicken little" is foolish. If you get it, you get it--like being struck by lightning

Would china kill 1.32 million for absolute power and to stop Trump?

Would d-rats kill 1.32 million for absolute power and to stop Trump?

    ABSOLUTELY !!

  • hillbillehillbille Member Posts: 14,461 ✭✭✭✭

3 of the 5 folks my wife works with have the virus, she has tested negative twice, figure it is just a matter of time though...... she is the only one in the office right now, as the others are home or quarantined

  • Sam06Sam06 Member Posts: 21,244 ✭✭✭✭

Reading the news it sounds like in TX everyone is dying.

I have had it, in fact I was one of the 1st to get it that i know of. I got it in early Feb. It messed me up but not as bad as Rocky Mtn Spotted feaver did from April to Aug. RMSF messed me up and I am still having problems. My Dr tested me again this month and I tested negative for covid antibodies so I guess I can get it again.

On the flip side I am over the mask deal. I am so sick and tired of wearing one its not even funny. The thing is the mask mandate is a total finger drill. Just look at the Masters last weekend. Some wear it some don't.

Same with social distancing some do it some don't................finger drill.

Did you see that the Gov of CA got busted going to a party?
