Gunbroker auto relist.... someone will most likely buy and seller wasn't paying attention... Will have to go thru GB to clear up..
Nothing against a Springfield, but I’m wanting a Rock Island 10mm double stack.
That TRP (Tactical Response Pistol) is a very nice 1911. I always kept at least one chambered in .45 in the rental cabinet. I would remove the stupid guide rod, store it in the factory box to be replaced after the rental period when the gun was sold, and replace it with a regular short unit. I always bought stainless for the rentals cause they would clean up and look better than a blue gun after a year of hard use. That gun would bring in a couple of thousand dollars and then be sold for good money. Rentals guns are a money maker for ranges. Springfield makes great 1911" and the TRP is pretty high up in their catalog.
The gun sold was a Range Officer Elite. Same as the TRP aside the stipple on the front grip. Mine shoots very accurate.
No Sir the R.O. series of guns are not, or at least were not the same as the TRP line. I am not going to spend the time researching this and it has been a few years since I was selling new guns but. As I recall the TRP came with a well fitted Kart barrel and I don't think the RO did. There are some other differences and I think the TRP retails at around $1500.00 and the RO E at $850.00. The gun should not have been listed as a TRP. The RO series are great guns but the TRP is different.
Just the stippling. RO has same match barrel. TRP goes for 1500 like you said and RO is below that at 1200 or so . RO has been discontinued with the new low grade Ronin taking over at 849 or so . Picture if you blow it up said Elite on the slide.
Sorry no. The ROE is not the same as a TRP except for the stippling. I sold a lot of Springfield guns and had a good relationship with the company. The TRP is a cheaper version of their F.B.I. pistol they built for the F.B.I. H.R.T. which they called the "Professional" and is around $3000.00 if memory serves. The Range Officer line came out for folks who wanted a quality 1911 but didn't want to spend more that around $800.00 when the TRP was selling for around $1300.00 We sold them and shot them and they are fine pistols and may shoot just as well as a TRP but they are not the same pistol.
Well I see the sights and stipling . Big difference in price.... I enjoy mine and so will the man that purchased his today. I think Springfield has discontinued my Elite which is 585 list lower.
I'm out.
Nice, and coming out of Pineville, LA...where some good memories reside.
