Anyone going to the Phoenix Gun Show Dec 4th thru 6th? It is going to be entirely outside and at this time the long range weather forecast is no rain.

Back when I lived in SoCal my friends and I would head out there for a long weekend. The show was always a good one, but the highlight of the trip was a wonderful Italian restaurant out on Indian School Road. I believe it was called La Fontaine. Sadly, it went out of business.

I would carefully double check, the Crossroads website before heading out. Corona is running wild in AZ, unfortunately. No telling if the local politicians, at the last minute could have a panic attack. And shut it down.

Everything being outdoors in the tents, is a bummer for a lot of the dealers though. Specially the out of state ones. The only mitigating factor though. Is what grouper Joe, and his gang of socialists are going to pull after 1/20.

Folks want to buy as many guns, and as much ammo they can get their hands on while they can before then. This got a lot of the table holders/dealers hot and bothered. Figuring it's a sellers market. They are going to make a bundle. Getting rid of all the turd guns and ammo, they have been stuck with for eternity.

Finally home (AZ) from the Phoenix Gun Show. It worked out for me. I haven't been doing the shows recently and wanted to see how the outside tables would work, how my new toy hauler would work, what the attendance would be, what the interest would be, if any thing new showed up, if any friends showed up and last but not least if I could get any primers and powder.

The outside tables worked fine but if there was wind and/or rain it would have been bad. I have had tables in tents at the Phoenix show before but the tables were more protected. Rain would be inconvenient but not a disaster. I wonder if it is possible to rent out say two parking spaces and let the vendors park the trailer in one space and display their stuff that way. Load in and load out would be easier and if the weather got bad then the vendor could protect his stuff. Also security would be better if stuff could be locked up at night. Did I say load in and load out would be easier? That would mean less of that dirty four letter word "work".

The toy Hauler worked well. I packed stuff to sell in the toy hauler loaded in and then rented a hook up at the fair grounds. It is cheaper than a motel and no fear of Covid, bed bugs etal. It is also convenient with the truck unhitched so I can go around town.

It is hard to tell about the attendance. There were plenty of people but I was not able to compare with past shows as the outside set up is different than the old way. I will say the goal of spreading people apart worked.

New stuff. I bought a portable UV sterilizer. I will be testing it to see if it is usable or stored with my Elio T shirts. I wonder if it kills bugs?

Some old friends showed up some did not. I hope they are OK.

Miwal ammo was there along with other ammo dealers. I was able to get primers, projectiles, and powder. Not cheap!!!! I figured they would be sold out of most of their stuff Friday. There was still plenty on Saturday but a few items were out. I was busy Sunday and did not get a chance to check. I did notice they increased prices (up) during the show.

After the show I went home (Ca). For all the liberals ATF etal. I left the Primers, projectiles and powder with a friend in Phoenix. Other than high winds, electrical outages a well that needed to be fixed and Ca. curfew everything was OK. After dealing with those things I loaded up my truck and trailer with ammo cans. I'm sure a couple of my la te da neighbors were happy to see me haul off some of my -junk- (collectables). Delivered the cans and picked up primers, projectiles and powder. That was a long trip and tiring. Glad to be home(AZ). The next Phoenix show is in January 2021. It may be one of the last shows before Biden is supposed to be sworn in.
