Remington 1100 HELP!!

My father in law, recently passed away. I inherited all his firearms. In this pile of guns, is a beautiful Remington 1100 12 gauge 3" magnum shotgun. Here is the problem. I took it out today to shoot it. It takes ten men, a bulldozer and log skidder, to pull the trigger!!!!!!!!!! At first, I thought the gun was broken, After pulling the trigger with a ton of pressure, it went off. I had my friend try to fire it and he had a hard time too. Is there any adjustment to this shotgun???? I have quite a few Remington 870 wingmasters, and they fire with little trigger pull. Any help would be appreciated. If there is no fix, I think I might just sell it or trade it for a rifle. Oakie. PS, I oiled it and used break free on it.
