Lost a fur buddy this morning

Our cat, Sambo, hadn't been acting right the last few days so we took him to the vet this morning. They determined he was in kidney failure so they were going to keep him over the weekend and give him fluids. No sooner had we gotten home then the vet called and said he had passed as she was putting the IV in. Hw was 17 so he had a good run. RIP Sambo, you will be deeply missed. Here's a picture of him with his favorite cuddle buddy, Romeo, who passed a few years ago.

Sorry for your loss

Sorry for your loss
I am very sorry for your loss.
Best wishes.
Sad news. Sorry about the loss.
Friends try to cheer me up with " the short lives of pets allows us to have more of them". But all I can think is " I don't want another dog, I just want my Rowdy back". Current little guy stepping up to the Rainbow Bridge and it just doesn't get any easier. Really sorry for your losses

Claws and paws tend to wrap themselves around our hearts for all too little time. I am sorry you lost your fur buddy.
never easy to say goodbye
sorry for the loss of your buddy
Oh no! So sorry! I love my fur kids more than most humans. And black cats are very special to me. Best personalities.
Very sad. I am quite fond of cats.
Sorry for your loss.
I share your sadness at the loss of your cat buddy Sambo. 17 years together makes it even tougher sometimes. A lot of memories there!
My late uncle had a cat he called P'' Willy that lived with him and my aunt on a farm. That cat lived a free life and roamed many acres with several outbuildings and a barn to do cat stuff in. P'' Willy was probably the ugliest fellow I have ever seen! Kind of on the mangy side and always thin and sleek. Not a lick of fat on him. When I was growing up we would attend many family get togethers at that farm and ole Willy was always around. The younger kids would torment him but he took it in stride. Got his revenge many times giving the little boogers a good scratching for their abusive deeds.
Years went by and I did my time in the service, was married and starting a family. Took the wife and kids to visit my aunt and uncle on the farm. To my surprise, there was old P" Willy there to greet us!! Ugly and scrawny as ever. He was 25 years old and lasted just under another year before he passed.
I asked my uncle how could a cat live so long and he told me mostly luck but he always fed the old boy raw chicken livers and giblets with a bit of cat kibble.
Kitty prayers from my 4 strays.
