Going rate for primers?

drobsdrobs Member Posts: 22,620 ✭✭✭✭

Dug through my closet and found that I have 7000 Tula small pistol primers and 5000 Wolf large pistol primers.

Are they worth anything?

not worth the paper they are wrapped in, best just send them to me for proper disposal, that many in a small closet could be dangerous...............

Looking at completed auctions it seems that price for Tula primers is all over the place, from $80-$145.

They are good primers, keep them for now to see if the shortage eases.

Worth a lot more if combined with brass, lead, and gunpowder.

The Small pistol primers are in much greater demand but both will sell for a premium right now-

As noted if you decided to sell them now, you will make a bundle. By my reckoning over $1000. If these are the unplated brass ones, in red and black boxes? i've had fail to fire problems with them in the past. In striker fired pistols. Because of this it seemed to me that these were the same unplated brass primers. That Winchester had been selling under their name.

I don't know what handguns you reload for? If any have FtF problems because of insensitive primers. Might consider selling these Russian primers now. As any make of primers are in great demand.

Any brand of primers have recently been averaging [ IF you can find them in Florida] .10 cents each .

    So -- 12,000 primers = $1,200.00 !

    Where are you located?

Did the Vero gun show this weekend

    LP/LR were $50-60.00

    SR CCI $90

    SP CCI $100.00

The guy that had the SP/SR sold a bunch at those prices

You would get more on GB but you require a hazmat shipping license or face 10 years in the slammer if you ship them without saying.

Not worth the risk IMO but I tend to be a follow the law to the letter person

May need to hire a full time merc to keep an eye on things.

Small jewelery store not too far from here, closed now and has been for years.

Owner had thousands of very pricey stones. His shop was a converted residence. You had to buzz to get in. Asked him how in the world he kept from getting robbed. He pointed out several Uzi's and a middle east fellow that was there almost 24-7.

    Answered my question.
