New Jersey lawmakers include 'social equity' tax in marijuana legalization
This should open the door on new tax guidelines for the progressive politics that is unfolding. I wonder if you could Tax Ammo Sales for the same reasons soon? They could siphon off revenue for all their socialist feel good programs on the backs of law abiding conservatives and have a win win tax environment to curtail gun violence and give relief to the victims. It's not beyond the realm of reason here.

Both the state Senate and Assembly's measures would authorize the Cannabis Regulatory Commission to impose a "social equity excise fee," with the revenues going to programs that work to offset drug law-related disparities.

Regarding the possibility of an ammo tax: The Constitution of New Jersey has no provision guaranteeing the right of its citizens to keep and bear arms, so yes, anything is possible.
Local weed sellers are laughing their * off.
Their product is cheaper than rat boy's legal taxed weed.
NJ sets the bar on stupid.
The NJ rats couldn't run anything honestly or competently.
Every state dept. is a rat run cluster .......
Unemployment Motor vehicle Education dept DOT DOJ Corrections etc on and on
Corrupt to their rat core by a bazillion rats.
Sin taxes have been around forever. As sin is no longer significant, the concept has simply been relabeled.
And yes, a sin tax on ammunition would be justifiable to millions.
