Ammo at the gun counter today at Wally World......as I said last week...be nice...

I had to grab a few things at the local Wally World today....As a matter of habit, I rolled past the ammo case to see if there was anything there......And there were exactly two 15 round boxes of 20 ga. #3 Buckshot....and the rest of the case was empty...On the shelves where there is normally dozens of 100 rd boxes of 20 and 12 gauge shotgun shell...five boxes of 20 gauge....the rest was empty....
While I was there a crusty old guy walked in and asked for some .22 LR... The nice young lady behind the counter said "I'm sorry, there was a run on everything over the weekend and no new ammo came in today" And the old coot went stupid and started belittling the clerk....I sort of stepped in joking with the old guy about how crazy things are right now and suggested a store down the road where they still had some .22 when I was there just a couple minutes ago but he better hurry, so off he went...
The poor clerk held her own but you could tell she was al might shook and said this happens often...SO as I said in a thread last week....
BE NICE..and beware of buttheads....

I guess the term came to mind as he was acting like a crazy old coot belittling the little clerk for something that was not her fault...

Never understood why someone would get irate with someone who has absolutely no control over the problem, whatever it may be. It serves no purpose, other than annoy or belittle the salesperson.

You are an old coot (An OC) when you yell at a teenaged girl making minimum wage over why a store charges THAT much, why they don't carry THIS, and why they won't give you a refund on THAT.

Store employees all need to wear on their shirt in large letters: "I Just Work Here! Please address all complaints to upper store management, as I have nothing to do with what is or isn't on our store shelves or the asking prices thereof! " Thank you! Have a nice day! 🙂
I remember during the first panic when I had a customer start to tear me a new one for limiting him to 2 boxes of 9mm. A gentleman standing next to him joined in and said he would buy all we had if I let him. The first guy asked him what he would do with all of it and was told he would sell it in his pawn shop and double his money. The first guy turned back to me and said he was sorry and that he didn't know we had to deal with gougers like the *hole pawn shop owner. Never saw the pawn shop guy again and the first guy became a regular good customer. Bob
