Am I getting Scammed?
So I sent a Certified USPS Money Order for an $85 dollar part on here. Certified letter tracking states it was delivered on December 5th. Called post office they confirmed what I was seeing, said, yes, it shows this was delivered.
I contact the seller asking if it had been delivered over the weekend he says no. I email this evening he states that payment has still not arrived, saying, "tracking information is not always reliable." (not when things have been scanned and show as having been literally delivered!)
I gave him the tracking number for the certified letter to see for himself. No word back as of yet. Has over 3k of good feedback, so that's why I bought from him. I've never once been told a buyer hadn't received a money order when the tracking number says otherwise. Never.
First time I'm habing any sort of issues on here.
Thoughts?

Is about to whack your Pee Pee !
I only posted my question as I've seen this type of question posed before in other posts, so I thought it was perfectly reasonable to get an opinion on the status of a potential issue. Wasn't a complaint so much as it was a question about a potential issue.
You may be getting "scammed," but the odds are it's a problem with the post office. As mentioned in another thread, some post offices are currently having trouble printing money orders. I went to the post office today and found lots of "issues." First, there were two huge bins on wheels sitting in the lobby with a sign that told people to "drop packages here" if they already had paid the postage. These bins couldn't be seen by the workers at the counter and anyone who wanted a few early Christmas packages could have easily walked out with them. Second, customer at the counter was asking about some packages that were not delivered. The mailperson had left a postcard in her mailbox, explaining that they packages could not be delivered because there was "no deliverable address" on the packages! The customer didn't understand how that postcard, with the address taken from the packages, could be delivered but not the packages themselves. The post office worker couldn't explain it either and offered NO help! Third, customer went to the counter to hand over a huge box of Christmas cards. The post office worker refused to take them! Worker told the customer to "put them in the slot." The customer explained that the "slot" was full to the point of overflowing. Worker responded by shrugging his shoulders and saying "not my problem.... next." Over the years, I've had problems with the post office and sellers. The post office has even delivered signature required envelopes to the wrong address. In one case I drove over a thousand miles and went door to door in the neighborhood where the letter was supposed to have been delivered. Yea, I found it had been delivered four houses away from the address, without anyone having signed for it. They thought it was just a "gift" so they cashed it! Since then I've had to make the decision to never send any more money than I'm willing to kiss goodbye. If it's a small item and/or not much money, I have a three strike rule -- I'll send the money a second time if the seller wants me to and I'll even send it a third time if I really want it, but that's it. I've had sellers cash money orders and checks and then tell me "it never arrived" and want me to send even more money! Like the old saying goes, "you pays your money, and you takes your chances." So far my "chances" are in the 75% range, meaning I'm successful about 3 out of 4 attempts. But lately I am also passing over a lot more items because of doubts. Best of luck.
From my experience with our local PO dok2u is right on target. My experiences with the PO were awful before COVID and now they have gotten exponentially worse.
These threads devolve into hate sessions for the P.O. This is closed.
Best.
