If winter ever shows up and stays.. Was outside in a t shirt today. Still have bugs flying around.
I didn't know that there was a good part of winter.
Yeah, actually we've been in the 40's still. No moisture.
No Mosquitoes!
Alpenglow
the older I get the less I like winter , and now I just truly hate it . too many reasons to list so just leave it at that
I can forego that in favor of rum and the tropics.
Best part of winter, another day closer to spring.
Winter is my favorite time of the year. No bugs, no allergies, no Jehovah witnesses, and the snow covers up all the ugly stuff. But the big bonus is that I can get my tractor out to re-arraign the snow.
Joe
I don't mind winter, although I do get cold easier now that I'm on blood pressure medicine. I do wish we'd get some snow, seems like all we get anymore is ice.
Pond hockey
Pond Hockey sounds like one of those adjectives ole Col. Potter used to use on M.A.S.H. 😂
70 tomorrow in South Carolina. Deer hunting is weird this yr.
2nd shotgun opens tomorrow in Iowa.
We're supposed to be getting from 1-6" of snow.
Currently spitting rain, wind howling, and 34° out.
I love this time of year! Late muzzleloader is just around the corner!
Sleep accommodations everywhere you look...
No competition for the really big waves...
Three blood pressure medications , two blood thinners and three arthritis meds have me to the point I can no longer tolerate cold weather . I HATE winter weather . Love hunting season though . But then again I am still on the top side of the dirt so it all ok !
Winter is very mild in Central Texas, so it is a relief from the dog days of summer. I welcome being able to open the door and get the cold air inside............not having to run AC (which I only ever keep at 78).........and being able to work without working up a huge sweat.
I miss the winters of my youth in Amarillo when we actually got feet of snow on the ground and built igloos.

??? @varian
Nanuq - do you guys have that much snow that Nanuq908 is out digging his igloo already?
Oh yeah we have feet of the stuff. We've had a couple chinook winds that ate a lot of it, but for a couple weeks there I was shoveling my decks 2x a day just to keep up with it.
Here are some pics from this afternoon, walking the dogs through the woods. Note how dark and blue it all is, we're getting close to Solstice so it gets dark by about 4:30pm.
We had a great day Thursday, it drizzled all day! It was the first moisture we've gotten in about 6 months. When the sun came up on Friday we had a wonderful fog blanketing everything. This was the best two days we've had for mositure in a very long time. The weather has been seasonal, cool overnight with highs in the 60s during the day. It's been a perfect fall for here on the desert.
I miss snowshoeing in the UP though. I could walk into places that I couldn't reach during the rest of the year.
Best.
Thanks for the pictures.
I wanted to bring the wife up last winter for the northern lights. Had some United miles but didn’t go, now we have a couple flights to take before the cancellations expire next November, but seems the virus will bugger up this year too.
Ah yes, the first day of spring!
ohhh, I see what he did now. Thanks bpost
Just as well, with the latest Corona Mass Ejection we were supposed to get some spectacular northern lights, but it's been cloudy for a week. Here's what it looked like a little further north.
