Weaver rifle scope

patt7638patt7638 Member Posts: 369 ✭✭✭

About 2 weeks ago I sent an email to Bushnell concerning a Weaver rifle scope that needs some repair. To date I have not heard anything from them. If anybody has any experience about this I would like to hear it. Thanks

Bushnell & Weaver are the names of old established US optical companies dating to the 30's and 40's. The original owners are long gone. The names and business rights have been purchased by foreign companies, (probably Chinese?). All the Bushnell and Weaver names are used for now, are their historical value, I.E. name recognition.

To make a long story short. All you can hope for is whoever is running the stateside operations of this outfit. Is willing to stand by their warranty. Don't get your hopes up.

I stick to replacing crosshair wires on ONLY Unertl & Lyman & * external adjustment scopes and the Weaver 330 and M73B1 sniper scopes as well. No cleaning or other repairs. Turnaround time is immediate, as I usually get the scopes fixed and back in the next day’s mail. No 6 or 8 month wait...Price for crosshair wire replacement is $85 and I’ll pay return shipping. For Do It Yourselfer’s, I also sell the best crosshair wire money can buy for about 20 years now. Its annealed Tungsten, is very strong & shows up Jet Black when installed. I have two diameters to choose from. Medium (.0015”) and Fine (.0005”). Price is $15 per 10 foot length of either wire. I'll pay return shipping to anywhere in the lower 48. USA sales ONLY, please. US Postal Money Orders ONLY, please.

    Please communicate by email.

We principally work on all externally-adjusted scopes, spotting scopes, some foreign-made scopes, most any vintage scope and antique telescopes. The only German scopes we work on are Weatherbys. We do NOT work on Tasco, Simmons, Bushnell or any Japanese-made scope. We do NOT work on Weaver, Leupold or most Redfields.

I've heard of good feedback from the place in Tulsa, Ok that repairs old scopes.

    Average is around $100.

Bushnell CS repairs of any kind usually sucks big air. (from previous experience) I do not trust them at all.

If you ever send anything to Bushnell get yourself a tracking number. (and email them a few days later after they have received it so as you can keep a filed paper trail of their responses.

They will lose it (in a big pile of other stuff) if it's a prolonged turn around.
