Got a large empty wall to display them on? Pretty cool.
Very cool drifter, cross country?
Outstanding! Boy are they in great shape. I love the thin tips for breaking the crust.
My granddad had to deliver the mail around Yellowstone in winter on XC skis, his were massive 10+ feet long, 5" wide with three grooves and "beartrap" bindings. When he wore through the tips from breaking the crust, he'd just cut the tips off in a new point, and curl them up again with a torch. He had the same bamboo poles, he painted each foot red or green with turkshead lacing at each foot. He used to invert them and plumb snow depths around the Park as he skied.
My personal skis are Trysil-Knut wood, and they're fantastic. I bet you could use your Swedish skis and be pleasantly surprised how well they work!
Think Ive got the twin to that pair! Including the poles.
Sweden being close to Russia, I called my wife over to look at your skis. Momma said they looked just like what she used 30+ years ago.
Splint above and below the break.
Will make a very nice wall display.
Awesome heirloom. I wish more folks would hold on and hand down items that were used by previous generations.
