“The Colteer” Educate me.

My friend’s dad has entered hospice care. His son collected a number of his guns for cleaning and safe keeping. Among them is the above rifle marked “The Colteer” followed by 1-22. (Apologies in advance for the pic quality. Had to grab it on my phone.) Is “1-22” the model number or some other designation? I’ve never encountered one of these before. The bolt is an interesting design with two interlocking pieces. Any info appreciated.

that is the model number they were made mid 50's to mid 60's I picked one up awhile back and ended up trading it for something else.

They made a 22 magnum also in that version.
Thanks! Gives me some info to take back to him. Appreciate the quick replies.
They were manufactured with 20", 22" and 24" barrels. The 22WMR in 22" and 24". The 20" is not seen very often. Colt offered a Coltmaster Jr. scope for these models also in 2 1/2, 4, and 6 power. They have not gained too much attention in the collector world.
