I'm having a item shipped from Yazoo Ms. to Central Fla. It was dropped off Dec 11th. It is now in Jackson Ms.. Six days, to go @ 58 miles.

USPS is having delays with their shipments. Look at their website, along with the other shippers, and you will see that they are overwhelmed with packages, and are posting that delays are more than likely.....imagine that, it's the week before Christmas, and most folks go down to ship gifts to family/friends, and expect that they will arrive on time... Same thing happens every year. What, where is all the ammo, powder and primers???
Minus the sarcasm, I've shipped 4 priority packages on the same day, to the same location. One arrived in the three day expectation, the rest arrived anywhere eight to 20 days afterwards....
It seems that the biggest problem is that the Gov't employees of the USPS are taking advantage of it. Read the first post from Kasey..

USPS Priority Shipping sucks. But USPS and Fed Ex are not much better, and maybe not quite as good.
have pistol shipped on the 7th has not moved since the 11th priority mail
Worst service ever. Got one shipped from MO last of November, took it a week plus to get to local hub, about 120 mile away. According to USPS it is on its way to local post office and has been for a week or so.
I guess we are SOL
