I recently received this rifle from a friend and am attempting to get some history on it and a time period if possible. I cant seem to locate any current contact info for the company, and have yet to find any dates stamped into the rifle. I appreciate any info anyone may be able to provide.

Modern Repro of a muzzleloader. They were forced into bankruptcy, now owned by a Turkish company.

Possibly their version of the 1841 Mississippi- about .58 Caliber.
V.T. is Valle Trompia, a village in the gun making district of Brescia Italy.
They made in the 1970's, imported by Replica Arms. Appears to have been rode hard and put up wet.
Usually the Italian made BP guns. Have Italian proof marks. One of which, is a coded date of proof. It will be either Roman Numerals for the early ones. Or Capitol Letters for the ones from the late 60's on.
If you can find them? We can give you the proof date. Which is usually same, same as year of manufacture.
rufe-snow where might I find them, I have looked all over and haven't seen any Roman numerals or other marking other than those I have pictured?
If there not visible externally? Might be beneath the wooden stock, on the barrel? Due to it's condition. the barrel bands and their retaining springs. Appear to be badly rusted. Making them hard to remove.
Unless you want to restore it? I would just leave it as is. And make it a wall hanger for your man cave.
