K98 Bore Dung

This is maybe 1/3 of the patches I have used on this old girl but she looks decent now. A little pitting but lots of rifling remaining. Next up a Postal Meter Carbine.

When the patches look like that, you know your work was worth the effort.

I bought and LOVE Wipe out SPray foam bore cleaner. I had a barrel cleaned to the nenth degree with Montana Extreme in the safe. I sprayed the bore full of Wipe Out (about 5 seconds to fill to the chamber). I let it sit for a few hours and was amazed how much bright blue gunk came out. It is nontoxic and easy to use.

I took other rifles with "clean" barrels and all of them showed a deep blue of removed copper fouling. One rifle sat over night and showed even more blue.

Not sure how it works on lead but by golly I am sold on it for copper from bullet jackets.

Must have been cleaning them before with that 'brown" stuff, 84 and 06 talk about.
