Got tested

Wife had a low fever and had been around some friends of hers. She freaked out thinking she had China Flu so we went and got tested.

Both of our tests were negative. She is one of only 5 people who go into her office 3 times a week(Out of over 300) so she had to make sure she wasn't infected. I went along for the ride and to see what goes on.

It was kind of cool. You pull up and they hand you a kit. You stay in your car and follow simple instructions printed in English and spainish. You have to have a smart phone for the deal to work. We did this at about 1500 yesterday and she was notified at 0350 this morning that we were both clear.

I don't have a smart phone and I am coming to the realization that I will either have to get one or I will be handicapping myself in the future.

they told me the same thing Sam about the smart phone, you were supposed to scan the little square box with the squiggly lines in it. told them I didn't own a cell phone, guy said ok just tell them when you get up to next table and they will fill out paperwork for you, they did and all went well..... good to hear you are both OK

@hillbille it was kind of a cool thing. I couldn't believe it was so well organized.

You are now on my hero list for not having a cell phone dude! Well done!

You are spot on, you had to scan the box with the squiggly lines and then fill out a form with your name, DOB and email on your smart phone. Wife has a smart phone so we were OK but I have a flip phone so I would have been SOL. I looked at the instructions to see if there was an alternative way to do the thing but there was nothing. I guess I would have had to get out of the car and ask.

One other thing, was there was no line. The parking lot was full but there was not real wait and the people running the check were on it. I was impressed the county government could be so efficient. I suspect when they start herding us all off to FEMA camps it will be done in an efficient manner too. Maybe they had a nazi who was involved in the final solution as an advisor.

+1 on the organized, I went to one at a local high school, one of my cousins tested positive day before hunting season we were together all day and played poker/drank beer all evening, next day his wife called to say he tested positive, rest of us went to small local high school for one of the drive thru tests, it was done by national guard, they were very polite and extremly helpful, the Dr. doing the testing told me he used to work at the VA, as he asked if any of us had ever been tested, I said yes at VA, only about 2-3 cars there at the time and he talked to us about 5 minutes or so and tried to anywer any questions we had, then wished us luck on hunting the rest of the week. we were stuck at hunting camp for 10+ days of quarantine, though we did have a few beer deliveries, I think my cousin had false positive on his test as he never showed any symptoms and he is 70+ and nam vet, rest of us tested negative.
