Things are really hard right now.

I am down to my last couple of ounces of Hoppe's 9. That golden elixir is probably 5% of my blood. Amazon was supposed to be shipping me a 16 oz bottle but they wouldn't commit to a date. Then it was supposed to be here yesterday but no joy. Then I got an email telling me they did not know when it would ship and did I want to cancel the order. So I started my search again and found that Brownells had it back in stock. So I have two 16 oz bottles supposed to be arriving this coming Tuesday along with a new Dewy rifle rod. Dewy makes the best in my opinion. My buddy broke my .30 rod and I have been using a Pro Shot. I have three of the Dewy pistol rods, and need a rifle rod. They too have been unavailable unless you want to pay $40.00 on ebay. Love those big red handles that will spin for so long. The brushes and patch holders don't unscrew.

I 've been using the same Dewey .30 rod on my M1s, FALs, HKs, M1A, and AKs for over 30 years. Just out of curiosity, how did your friend manage to break a Dewey .30 cal rod?

He wouldn't say. He offered to pay for it but it was probably at least ten years old and had been used a lot. Brownells has new ones for $25.00 so it's all good.

    Dewy makes a great rod.

When I was gone in Africa somewhere, my father in law brought my nephews(his grandkids) over to my house to shoot 22's. He knows nothing about guns BTW. Well they were shooting a couple of 22 sigle shots with with CB longs. One of them got a bullet stuck 1/2 way down the barrel and they kept shooting a few more(Thinking the bullets would knock it out). Well then they got my Dewy 22 cal rod and commenced to try and pound the bullets out. Didn't work. So what do you do? Just leave the gun for Sam to fix and move on. They also ran my JD mower into the deck steps and broke the hood all to crap.

Oh and no offer to fix or pay for any of it.

I got a new rod but I think I got it from Midway.

Ricci I just looked and Midway has 16 oz bottles for $9.99

I am partial to Bore Tech rods and Bore Tech Eliminator. You can drink my share of the No. 9.
