The Left badly wants Conservatives to look like they can't be trusted with the presidency again.
Perhaps when the democrats found out about the protest, they planted people in the demonstration who knew how to incite a riot. Then, it's possible the capitol police had orders to get out of the rioters' way.
The riot wasn't planned as an "attack" or anything but civil disorder because even though a few people died and got hurt, the mob didn't really have any weapons or barricades. If you were going to conquer the Capitol, would you bring a few thousand rioters with no real weaponry? It was a protest gone bad, perhaps aided and abetted by the manipulation of the left.
Trump may be a false flag candidate because he represented good conservative ideals but went out of his way to offend people and let his critics have a field day. The riot and his failure to concede the election in general may be a part of that plan.
The next time there's a good conservative candidate with a strong chance of winning, liberals and fence sitting moderates will say "remember how we barely got Trump out of office."
Maybe a few of the president's former leftist friends were manipulating his senility so he'd turn conservative, then make us look like power hungry fools.

JFYI, if you listen to Trumps speech prior to the melee, you will find he mentioned the demonstrations be done PEACEFULLY and legally on a number of occasions........Funny how the media has completely ignored this little factoid. Instead they present the narrative Trump insinuated rioting and is entirely the blame.
Other than some needed deregulation, I am at a loss as to how Trump was a good conservative.

The left knew just what to do in order to embarrass the right this way.
In 2010, Sarah Palin's use of symbolic crosshairs proved too challenging for at least one developmentally disabled conservative, and he went and shot Gabrielle Giffords.
Elements in the Democrat party quietly took note and bided their time.
Fast forward to January 2021. The left noticed Trump supporters were planning a protest against Biden. They noticed some of the announcements of the protest were using attack imagery to inspire Trump supporters to make their presence felt by shouting slogans and waving signs near the Capitol.
Perhaps they even used agents provocateurs to post false-flag social media advertisements to really give those protesters an attack mentality. Ostensibly, they were using attack symbolism to inspire protesters.
Then, it is easy to speculate that the capitol police "accidentally" didn't police the event well enough to keep it from turning into a real attack. Perhaps there were liberal agents provocateurs in the crowd who know how to incite a riot.
It is scarcely conceivable that the Capitol Police in the nation's capitol can't control riots when they want to. The location regularly sees protests and demonstrations. Sometimes, a million men at a time come to demonstrate. It is also located in a city that ranks above average for violent crime.
