No FFL. I understand we don’t talk about the other side but is this possibly someone maybe trying to get GB in trouble or am I off base on this? Item# 888978991

No
He will also ship AR-15's with no FFL. Free shipping and no FFL. He's a new guy. I am surprised GB didn't catch this.
All four of their listings say "FFL is not required" near the top of the page, but lower down you'll see the usual blurb... "Firearms may only be shipped to a licensed dealer (FFL Holder). Some listed items may not be legal in every state. Complete your purchase within the law." Personally, I'd contact the seller before bidding if I was interested.
1911 ROCK ISLAND (NO FFL) - Semi Auto Pistols at GunBroker.com : 888978991
This is the last item in his description "THIS IS A BUILD KIT!!(NOT READILY CONVERTIBLE)".
Could this seller mean that he/she does not hold a FFL?
He doesn't need a FFL, since he's not saying that you are getting receiver. Note that he doesn't have the words "80% receiver kit" ,or describe any receiver at all.
He says they need "assembly"; well, duh, yes, they need assembly, but first you need to buy a receiver elsewhere. All he is offering is a kit.

I am not sure about the AR-15's but that is a complete 1911 pistol with a serial number.
for a grand he is skirting the law
I vote yes, legal.
Yes to he does not need an FFL. That is why I pointed that out.
