How soon will the Biden admin. do what they have promised to do and shut down all internet sales of ammo ,guns , gun parts and accessories? Will this succeed? Same question on the plan to tax certain guns and mag's?
The writing is on the wall.
I hope he has better things on his plate but that female will try to make it happen. Sure this will be moved to Politics but we damn sure need to be doing anything to help prevent this. Emailing my senators from Illinois is like pouring cold urine on a forest fire, totally useless. 😪
I would like to know the laws regarding commerce restrictions and what can be prevented. I am not sure they could do it but with Obama version II coming who really knows. I believe the goal will be to price people out of purchasing more than actually preventing sales. Remember back when Obama was in office what the gun sales numbers where? Yeah, astronomical, so people do realize that bad things could be coming.
He is basically going to change everything, the whole damn world, during his FIRST HUNDRED DAYS. Pay attention.
Sadly, it sure seems that way.
Well read it. What does it say???
There is no functional difference between calling you local gunshop and ordering a firearm that has to be shipped in than placing an order via the internet. There will be a strong Constitutional challenge based upon the simple restriction of commerce concept.
Yes, the Federal Government can regulate inter-state commerce. Other than items that are illegal within the receiving state, it almost never completely restricts said commerce. The SCOTUS challenge will truly and clearly show what is inhabiting that courtroom. There is absolutely no Constitutional basis for the acceptance of such a ban, and any justice who decides for such a ban should be impeached for breach of their oath.
50/50 chance that weasel Roberts would try to decline to take the case, but I would think such a move would cause Thomas, Barrett, probably with Alito and Kavanaugh to rebel.
I think they will pick on ammo first and make all purchases go through an FFL. If individual liberal states can get away with it, why not the feds?. Bob
They have both commented that that is high on their Agenda.
I would look for, at the very least, inroads to that end.
They can (and probably will) add so many added Taxes to any purchases of that kind, as to make it unfeasible. They don't have to make it illegal - just financially impractical.
Extreme NE TN/W NC ya'll. 😁
Don't depend on the SCOTUS!! They punted on the election lawsuits and refused to hear them, and the lawsuits were on solid constitutional ground!!! I believe they will go after guns sales first, then ammo. Both within the 100 days. Apparently laws and constitution do no matter if the cases are NEVER HEARD :(
From illinois also, I can't even get my state assemblyman(r) to give me a real response to when i can expect my foid renewal to be done, i'm just past 200 days since it was applied for
I think they will have an uphill legal battle if they run it thru the house and senate. Interstate commerce is very legal along with the states getting their tax revenue. The Supreme Court can make that decision. Firearms are sold legally thru legit sites.
They can still allow it to be "Legal." Pretty sure they can attach so many additional Taxes to it, to make it impractical in a financial sense.
They don't have to make it Illegal, just financially impractical.
CONSTITUTION? Do you really think these soon to be inaugurated duly elected leaders of the United States of America (yea right) give two hoots in a hog waller what the BILL OF RIGHTS ARE? Not trying to be flippant at all, but does it matter nowadays?
Politicians of both parties have demonstrated that the Constitution is at best a guide, and at worst and annoyance, bpost.
There are few at SCOTUS that still believe it to be meaningful. The problem, of course, is that sadly I fear it is not a majority.
SCOTUS? Don't make me Laugh Out Loud Don. They have just recently proved how worthless they are in a Constitutional Crisis. If ever they should have been involved in making some sort of Decision, it was Now.
I have lost all faith in that "Institution."
Take Off the Robes, and go Home. Just Pathetic.
Reasonable people will exhaust all legal means before looking for other options, Ken.
Barrett, Thomas, and to a certain extent Alito and Kavanaugh are fairly dependable. Gorsuch would probably come down on the correct side of this issue. Sotomeyer, Kagen, and Breyer are certain to view this politically and not Constitutionally.
Roberts will do whatever he thinks will look best for his legacy. IMO, he is the worst of them all.
Yep, SCOTUS, another totally worthless group of people.
two words for gun owners and related company's were screwed
