Another Funny Email Exchange (I Think It's Funny Anyway)
First two lines of the Item Description:
"DO NOT BID ON THIS AUCTION!
"Please, do not bid until after you have READ and AGREED to the Additional Terms of Sale at the tab on the top of this page."
I put that there to help forestall questions about whether I'll accept Paypal and what not.
So, this potential bidder sent me this email: "Why does it say not to bid?"
I responded: "Why did you stop reading after the first sentence?"
He wrote back: "Well, your first sentence and your second sentence contradict each other. The first, in bold and all caps, says do not bid. The second says to agree to your lengthy and overdone terms. Frankly, I wanted this gun and wanted to make sure the “do not bid” at the top wasn’t there because you had sold it locally and simply hadn’t been able to close the listing. But, now I know your just an * who can’t be bothered with a simple question. So, I won’t be bidding."
My thoughts at this point: (What a bonehead! Second sentence explains the first, and there was nothing there about the gun being sold locally. I reckon that was just in his imagination. Reading comprehension is definitely not his strong suit.)
I wrote this, and it seems to have ended the conversation: "Oh, NO! Now, I probably won’t be able to sleep tonight, not more than 8 or 9 hours anyway."
Gotta have a little fun with it once in a while!

A wise man one said " Nip it!! Nip it in the bud!!!" Wiser words have never have been spoken. Heck, you might know him David. He was a fellow law man from down here near where I live.
So it appears you are feeling better and back to being full of P*$$ and Vinegar!
Glad to see you’re back!
+1 How is your other patient doing?. Bob
All those years in law enforcement have given you a good thick skin!
The more I'm around people, the more I love my dogs.
Thanks to all for your good thoughts and good words. We are better. I am pretty much there except for the oxygen in my blood is a little low. Pulse oximeter reads 90-91%.
Dawnie is better too, but she is still sore all over from the muscle aches and cramps that came with the Covid.
...In many years of living...Ive seen a lot of "stupid"...but sometimes I'm still amazed, geez..just goes to show that "stupid" knows no bounds...😁
LMAO
I received my first negative feedback because I would not pay for bullets with PayPal. Offered USPS MO, draft, cash and a host of others but would only accept PP. Cant believe these people exist on GB. Sure wish I saved the exchange.
You can sleep for 8 or 9 hours?
Being retired is nice.....huh?
Glad to hear both of you are getting better.
I don't think the guy really wanted the gun, anyway. That's the way I would take it. Plenty more buyers out there.
Glad to hear you are both recovering. My younger brother had it in Nov. and he is about 85 or 90% of normal. Really knocked him for a loop but he didn't go to the hospital or need oxygen.
Some folks are just plain weird, your non buyer is one of them. Glad you and Dawnie are on the mend!
I would have told him the auction is worded that way to weed out the dummies. And it is working fine.
Welcome back.............glad you guys are better.
