Took another walkabout....more pics
Today's high was 53 so it was another great day to get outside. Before hitting the woods I fed the chickens. Apparently my bees think they are chickens.
The oak leaves on the ground have insect nests on the underside. Beats me what type of bug comes out of these.
A tiny bird's nest waiting to be occupied.
Shiggles doing her tree and walker imitation.
Chief and Shiggles having a confab.
My swamp tree. I'm standing where there is a pond behind me. The "pond" where the tree grows is an area that holds water when there is a large amount of rain.
Game trail with deer scat. Chief flushed three today while we wandered around.
Don't know what these are but their brambles make it a pita to walk a straight line through the woods.
Lastly, an armadillo rooting around in the field next to my farm.

Nice pictures, we didn't get quite as warm as you today.
I love the swamp tree!
I call them wild grapes.
Looks like a great outing....
A walk in the woods is when I feel the Lords presence all around me!!!!!
I think those vines are Green Briers, especially if the have the dreaded thorns on them. Very aggressive and mean to get through.
Around here anyway.
Vines are cissus, wild grape, check the leaves-grape. Not insect eggs, fuzzy one is a fungus gall, the other is an insect gall, caused by a larval insect growing there in summer. Bees will go after the fructose in corn.
the bees want the soy protein
Great pics, thanks for sharing.
Very nice. Looks so peaceful.
our wild grapes still cluster like regular bunch of grapes though they are still smaller than blueberry. Green briers are about the size of blueberry and are spaced out by single berry and very thorny with very green stem and clustered in big bunch that you can hardly walk through.......
@Butchdog2 @hillbille I agree, green brier. The pic after the close up of the berry is the mess in which the berries live. I hate it when i come upon these darn things.
We.re lucky, we had our place selective cut a few months ago and the loggers cleared some old roads and made a few new ones. Makes for great walking, unless you jump off the road.
Great pics... thanks for sharing!!!

Those are really nice pics. You have a great place. Envious here.........Im in the big city.
Fruit does seem to be a bit large and mushy for Green Briers. Again the ones around here.
Thorns on the vines? Tough as nails to cut?
Leaves, could have dropped in from somewhere else.
Certainly beats my backyard. 20 degrees & snowing like crazy☺️
Very nice, love the woods, anything outside. I live in a similar rural setting and I appreciate it every day and try not to take it for granted. Wandering around is my thing, I'll be giving 'em heck when I get to the old fart home.
