Called my Mom this morning and she is going to need in home care. She asked for it. Not renewing her drivers license at 92 soon to be 93. So I will find her a company to come in and take care part time to full time pending what she needs.

Prayers for the right agency or group. It is better that she requested it and you do not have to be the one that decides it is time....Same with the license.....in our case, the license was a very difficult process...

I feel for you. We have my mother (95) & aunt (99) to take care of. It made it easier when we moved them in just down the street from us. Luckly, I found a local woman I know to stop by every other day (for now.) She cleans, does laundry, helps with meals & most of all she socializes with them. She makes her own hours & is paid $20+ an hour, cash. Most of all is that she is a good person & we trust her. Best wishes & good luck in all this.

My bride passed away in November, but had been in the "Home Hospice" program (Bon Secours) for 2.5 years. We had a Home Health Aide that would come in 3 times a week to help with bathing, clothes, etc.

Those folks were absolute angels. I could not overstate how much of a help they were, They became part of our family.

My sister and I were the closest relatives for my Grandma.

The first time she went into the nursing home was against her will.

She improved and she came home for about a year.

We had nurses come in and, of course, we checked on her also.

I was there one day and she told me that she was ready to go back to the nursing home.

It was just too much for her at home and even tho she complained the first time, it wasn’t bad there at all.

    She passed at 98.
