Started the day out at our men's study group at church.....great eats and fellowship. A good readjustment of attitude and perspective ..back home to work on taxes and other paperwork...It is too cold to do a whole lot outside so I figure there is plenty to keep me busy.

Intend to take a short nap in the afternoon and then clean some guns and consider listing a few items on the Auction side....AND lots of great tunes playing in the background !!!!!!

WHAT'S Happening in your World today.....

Watching the birds eat breakfast in the frost. Meeting up with a guy in a few hours to buy 5,000 bullets. Probably load some 22-250 ammo and then take some pictures of a few guns to list on the other side...Oh, and a beer or three...

Heading to the feed store to get horse feed and later make spaghetti sauce from scratch for dinner tonight... not real exciting but overcast at 51 degrees and kinda wet out so probably won't do much else. May have to start my 12oz curls early today... (I need some for the sauce anyway) LOL.

Trying to scrounge up reloading stuff, have been responding to Craigslist and FB messages all morning. So far one guy offered me pistol primers for $280/1,000, passed on that one. A couple guys are supposed to get me lists later today.

Went to the trap range helped shovel the field for an event tomorrow morning. Had coffee and we didn’t end up shooting as it was 18 when we got there and not much more after we had the fields ready for tomorrow.

Homesteading girls get together this a.m., chaired the postponed VFW Auxiliary meeting (I'm the president), wondered around Menards buying things I needed and stuff I didn't know I needed until I saw it. Fed the critters. Relaxing now as I watch some SEC basketball.

Went to the Tampa gun show this morning. Bought a few things and met up with some friends there and went to a great Cuban sandwich shop for lunch. I got home and took a nap. Rough day.

Shoveled and wheelbarrowed about 8 ton of rock into my crawlspace today, need about 3 ton more maybe tomorrow. Got to get it done before the framers start putting in TGI's. Hard enough when I can stand upright, don't think my body can handle doing it bent over.

I have a SpaceX launch to watch at 8:00 am Mountain time, then a nice brunch made by SWMBO, then I'll run the snowblower as soon as it stops coming down. Then there's the Packers game later on, followed by cocktails of celebration or mourning (LOL!) Sunday night is Masterpiece on PBS so this looks like a pretty full day for me.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

It's raining and kind of cool this morning, if it dries up I might take the dogs on a wak through our woods.

My boy lives out in the bush and he’s flying to town tonight. We get to have dinner together. Boy I can’t wait.

Picked up the side by side Friday after dropping it off for an oil/change tune up. Had city stuff to do yesterday so offloaded it today, took 59 lbs. of corn to the venison on hoof. Came home to do some culinary experimentation.

Been sort of lazy for a while, the weather has all but killed much flying. I did load 30 rounds of test .223 for the Savage today. I am using the 52 grain Sierra BT match bullet. I loaded 10 with 3031, ten with H380 and ten with H4895. The Chronograph and test targets will tell some tales. Rain is called for the next several days, so shooting is out.

I made a dry rub for some pork ribs and cooked them in the INSTAPOT. Man are they good when you add a splash of apple cider vinegar to the pot.

I got a call from my brother who asked me to bring him some soup because he feels horrible and his co-worker tested positive for covid. I told him not to mess around and go to the doctor if he felt short of breath or felt worse than just "bad". I was on my way out the door for a pre-planned meeting to pick up guns in Huntsville. So, I called my son to come pick up his prizes I bought for him from Bass Pro while I was in Memphis yesterday....and as a favor to me he could take the money I left in his bag and go get some soup and survival supplies for his pitiful uncle. (He agreed to do this for his uncle.)

I went to Huntsville and visited with the most GORGEOUS Afghan hound on the planet named "Samson" who would be shoved in the car as I left if I thought I could have gotten away with it. I had a hard time keeping focused on the business I was there for because he had 100% of my attention.

I got home, checked emails and rearranged things a bit in the gun room. I drop my car off tomorrow to get the ding in the bumper fixed, so I got all of my "nonsense" out of the car so the guys working on it wouldn't think I was some kind of psychopath. I'm about to change into my PJs and either start watching the Bones series on TV or start Zelda, Breath of the Wild, (a video game)....I haven't figured out which.

He has a nasty cough, but says he feels better than he did. I'm going to insist he go in to get checked and get the meds they are giving people if he doesn't feel a LOT better by Tuesday. He thinks I won't make him get in the car.....but even though he is 6'9" I think I can still kick his rump if I have to.

Had a nice dinner with my boy, jeg fikk en Norsk øks til Jul, det er den skjegget Damaskus. I had a Damascus steel Norwegian axe made for him at Christmas, and tonight I got to give it to him. Boy was he pleased! Belated, but it was the best part of Christmas.

Looks nice! I did the photo that way so it looks all dark and menacing. Without touchup it just looks like an axe lying on tile.

He was worried it was that fake-o "damascus" that comes from Pakistan and is just acid etching. I said no, feel here... right at the throat of the handle opening you can feel the forged layers with a fingernail where they make that sharp turn. A local guy made that and he forged it within an inch of its life.

Jeez Grunt2, take a day off and relax! Your list is nuts!

We have been accumulating snow for the last 2 days so we're up to 24" and getting another 12" today. Lots of closed roads up north of here in the mountains but Snow Bowl, the restaurants and hotels are jumping for joy! C-19 is putting a small crimp in things but not too bad all in all.

I shoveled snow in the dark this morning so I could clean off the vehicles and open up the end of the driveway. Tough way to get moisture but we'll take it!😏

    Best.

Nononsense, don't think of it as snow, think of it as water to go fishin' in when it warms up this spring!

close to 50 today so I went for walk up to little shopping mall about 1/2 mile up road. Usually make lap around the parking lot and back to house, just over a mile walk. wind was so strong I couldn't keep my baseball cap on lost it twice so put it inside my coat. Now I haven't had a haircut or shave since june/july. wind had my hair whipped up like a knotted mop. as I was cutting back across parking lot a lady was getting out of her car as I passed, she yelled at me that I needed a mask on to be out in public!! I just shook my head and turned as she yelled again, I turned to her and said if she didn't be quite I was gonna come over there and cough all over her, she just stood there as I walked off, I know I may not have looked like something off cover of GQ but dang have some manners people.........
