How?

I was just looking on the auction side and the most expensive guns are almost all colts.

How can Colt be in such bad shape when they make the most copyed pistol the 1911 and arguably the 2 most sought after revolvers the 1873 and the Python.

Then chuck into the mix the military buying Colt M4's.

How?

Its like Sears, they were Amazon and more since the mid 1800's, how did they not get into the buying on line band wagon when Amazon was just a used book store?

The only thing I can think of is poor leadership and management.

That would be the reason. About 1993 Sears laid off 50,000 workers when they shut down their catalog mail order end of the business. Just a couple of years later the internet took off. Sears already had in place what it took Amazon years and millions of dollars to achieve. Poor management and leadership. Yep. Couldn't see a few years into the future.

Yeah, some smart, liberally educated, MBA, decided to make himself a tidy sum by "saving" the company some money by dropping the people who were carrying the load, thus sending the whole thing down the drain. He didn't care, he got his golden parachute and moved on to the next victim.
