LaVoy was born on January 27, 1961 and murdered on January 26, 2016. Happy Birthday LaVoy and Rest in Peace.
Today is a day I will never forget. i received a call ten minutes ago that my best friend and hunting partner since 1965 passed away today from cancer. He was a Berlin trained toolmaker who escaped the communist sector and worked for IBM. My heart is broken. Rest in Peace Gerhard (Gerry)---------------------------------------Ray
i am sorry, I meant to put this in GD instead of Politics. Not doing too well today. Maybe one of moderators could move it. Thank you. ---------------------Ray

RIP. So sorry for your loss.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Sorry for your loss, good friends are hard to find.
the worst part of getting old, all my friends dying.. sorry for your loss.
Mark, thanks very much for moving this Topic from Politics for me. Also, did not mean to combine Lavoy Finicum with passing of my best friend but was in process of typing about Lavoy when call came in that my hunting partner and best friend of over 55 years had passed away.
Not long after my friend Gerhard came to this country he served in the US Army in a heavy weapons platoon in Germany. He also was his CO's interpreter. He will be buried in the Veterans Cemetery in Goshen, NY. When I have some time after the funeral I will write a few words here on the Forum.
Thanks to all of you for your kind words for me here.------------------------Ray
A few words on Lavoy. I watched the siege in Oregon, read all the National and local Newspaper articles, studied the videos for hours and followed the mass media. I thought it was murder and abuse of power. They let Lavoy lay there in the snow and bleed out. Never checked his vitals or called for an ambulance.
I understand some here see it differently and i respect that.----------------------Ray
