Probably not this time, but they were OEM for PW's ! 😜😎
It's being willing. I found out early that most men, regardless of cause or need, aren't willing. They blink an eye or draw a breath before they pull the trigger. I won't. ~ J.B. Books

They were good engines back in the days if you kept them tuned up and changed oil.
Had one in a Dodge Dart. Had an issue with burning out some sort of resistor. After a couple of mechanic bills and getting stranded, several of the resistors were purchased and stored in the vehicle along with the tool to remove the resistor from the firewall and replace it. IIRC, you had to be careful not to touch it in the wrong area or skin oils would be deposited and the resistor would burn out again. Thus, having a clean piece of paper toweling readily is suggested.
If you are already aware of my info, sorry. I am also posting to those who do not know the above or forgotten.
Nice looking old truck. Unfortunately not a candidate for a DD to replace my 2010 Tacoma which is starting to give me issues. The base cost for a 2121 Tacoma is about $36k. Ouch. need to keep looking.
Great motors.
The leaning tower of power...............long live MOPAR!
Lasted forever cause they only rubbed on one side! Pain changing the points though.
Had one in a 72 Duster
Pretty much "ruled" the dirt tracks in our area for a few years in the 60's. Of course they were only competing against the
flathead Ford. After they approved the ohv v8's, it still took about 2 years for them to unseat them.
had one in an 80 dodge PU with a 4 speed overdrive trans. drove it the first time i went with my new bride to Utah. drove over ratan pass in december in to Denver and then on I 80 to utah. above 5000ft i could get about 25mph out of it either uphill or down. swore i would never go west again with anything that didnt have fuel injection and at least 300hp. oh yeah, it would only run about 80 here in ms. on the flat I-10.
Varian- Don't feel bad. had a Ford Taurus that on I-70, going up to the Eisenhower tunnel, would do 55 with the accelerator held to the floor. In fairness to Ford, that WAS at 11,000 feet and a 7% grade.
Anybody know why they didn't just make the cylinders upright like every other six-in-a-row engine on the planet?
hood clearance
My guess would be to get the profile lower, but I may be wrong.
There's a fellow on you tube a old school drag racer with a history of car magazines top fuel well About anything drag racing he is a huge fan of molar and the slant 6 just finishing a race car and a slant 6 built
Good fellow to watch if you have a few minutes he goes by utg uncles Tony garage
Used that engine in our grape harvesters in the 1970s
When the slant 6 first came out in the 1960 models, there was a race series for the new compact cars including Valiants, Corvairs & Falcons. Chrysler had already developed a factory kit which consisted of race pistons & rods, hot cam, headers, a long ram manifold with Carter AFB 4-bbl. carb & other goodies. The 7 Valiants entered swept the first 7 places. There was no second year of the series as no one else wanted to pretend to compete. The engine was designed to handle lots of HP with a stout bottom end and was fairly heavy for its size. Pollution controls in the 70s pretty much killed its potential & it wasn't too handy in de-tuned form. The designer of the slant 6 was given the job of designing the 426 Hemi.
