My father passed April 26, 2006 in a nursing home with Alzheimers. My sister had called me that morning and told me she thought he was having difficulties and didn't know how long he would make it. I told her I had a couple of things to do in the office and then I would head that way (1 hour drive). It took me about 45 minutes to leave. I was 5 minutes from the nursing home when she called me and told me he had expired.
I still beat myself up for not leaving right away and being there even though I know he would not have known I was there.
Got to GA and Dad was in the Fulton County Morgue. One thing he did do for me was join the Cremation Society of Georgia. I called them and they took care of everything. I figured it was going to cost an arm and a leg but it was kind of cheap IMO. $1250 for the cremation and $400 for 25 copys of his death certificate.
I picked him up at the crematorium put him in the car and went home. I had a few drinks with him and now he is at my house.
I miss him but he is in a better place and he died peacefully.
Wow its been a tough 3 years I am sure. Hes at peace If you ever need any help in Atlanta with cleaning out let me know.
Although always described as a cowboy, Roswellnative generally acts as a righter of wrongs or bodyguard of some sort, where he excels thanks to his resourcefulness and incredible gun prowesses.
