There was a sign behind the gun counter at Bass Pro today....basically ammo was available for purchase if you bought a firearm...they did have some Winchester 5.56 62 gr. 855 Green Tip 150rd/89.99 available for any one to buy...so there is still some ammo out there....right place/right time I guess....

I prepared 200 cases .308 today , now if I only had components to load them.
I have seen countless ( no did not watch majority of them and only a few seconds of others ) people in line sharing stories of waiting hours before they open the doors in front of places like academy , bass pro and well just about any big chain store that sells ammo in hopes of getting any and then post about getting there two box limit , but they spend what seems like every day repeating the process
I did watch one older fellows take on it . his main focus was fear most would call panic , majority of the run is people in fear of new taxes, new restrictions , on line selling , having to register to buy it , still the fear of SHIF , not having enough regardless of many they have now as a big part of the issues
and as he stated as long as the fear ( panic really ) is driving the market there is no end in sight along with people paying crazy prices the prices are just going to stay crazy or go higher
he made me laugh as he also said something like " grown men waiting hours out side in line to buy ammo, the same ones that would walk away at there favorite restaurant if there were three people in line ahead of them .
I have and sure some of you keep thinking maybe I should be selling off some of my ammo for the crazy prices
The small amount of ammo I have is worth exactly what I paid for it. It would be worth a whole lot more if I sold it but since I am not starving that ain't gonna happen. If any of you have read some of the politicians proposals you would be concerned about replacing in the future what you sell today. The prices may go down some and it may become more available as people either think they have enough or run out of money but it will be a long time, if ever, before it gets back to what we think of as normal. During the last panic I thought prices were crazy but now those crazy prices have doubled. What will happen to the prices in the next inevitable panic?
I know I can't take the ammo with me but I'll have enough for a whole lot of 21 gun salutes when I kick the bucket.😁 Bob
556 was 75.00 last week
Bass Pro is slowly approaching the $100 mark, here it was $70/150, then a month ago it hit $80, and now it's apparently $90.
The 55gr. standard White Box was 79.99/150 rds....the Green Tip were 89.99/150 rd Box.....
Glad I don't need any.
So was I........But I did buy some for my buddy that did....
I haven’t had to reload in a while, but I don’t need any supplies at this time. Unlike a lot of folks I have plenty of cases, primers, & powder for everything I reload. And, I have a ton of lead to cast my 45 Colt bullets with. I’m going to start making fishing sinkers since I recently got a mold for them. Once the SASS season starts in April, I may have to start reloading for that, but I could probably get through a season right now without it, because I have about 1200 rounds of 45 Colt, 200 45-70, and more 12 gauge trap loads then I can count. Call me lucky I guess...🤗
