SKS????

Have an SKS that I plan on listing, and was wanting some opinions on it. It's the run of the mill Chinese version, in a plastic stock and no bayonet. I've had it forever, and don't think it's ever been shot, and don't plan on it since I don't even have any ammo for it. Looking on the auction side, I think I could find a factory stock and bayonet for about $150. Is it worth buying that stuff, or just listing it in the current condition and letting it go? TIA....

I think given the current market, I would sell the thing ASAP. With the current run on firearms, I don't think anybody will care what type of stock it has as long as it functions. IMO.
That was my thoughts too, but was curious as to others..
is the stock redish if so jungle stock worth more that wood
Nope, it's just a black plastic K-SPORT stock.
Sell it as is, and let the buyer do any upgrades he or she feels are required.
The SKS,that hold ten rounds in a fixed magazine and can be clip fed could be exempt from a assault weapon type ban in the future but it's only if they don't list firearms that are banned and it's on the list.
serf
Another vote for selling as is.
"Run it as is" gets my vote too.

BTW, I think the SKS is a really underrated platform. More accurate than an AK and just as reliable. People like the detachable mags of the AK, but reloading an SKS is fast and easy with a modicum of practice. It's a battle tested platform and the 7.62x39 is cheap and effective.

I’ve had one for almost 40 years , since they first stated being imported . Dependable accurate and fun . Favorite wood walking gun . HAs accounted for untold numbers of feral dogs and cats . Along with it ha smattering of other vermin
sell as is .
I sold off all but one of my SKS and AK's during the old big ears event .
wish I had just kept them now hind sight is always best
Just sold mine with a plastic stock & ground off bayonet lug. Gave him both the original 10 round magazine & the 5 round I had installed. Tried to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.
